Great socks. Super comfortable
Great socks. Super comfortable. I've worn only merino socks for over a decade and have tried many brands, that are comfortable but wear out quickly. So far, over a few months of usage, these don't show any wear. Granted, I rarely wash merino and if I do I'll do it by hand in the sink because washing machines tend to destroy them, but these have been treated the same as all of the others and they're holding up better. Also they've clearly put some thought into the design and sewing of these socks which makes them comfortable and supportive. I've had some from other brands which were just like putting your food in a big unsupportive tube. These socks are much better!

I hate to pay this much for socks, but...
I hate to pay this much for socks, but it’s simply worth it. If you’re battling athletes foot, Smartwool is a game changer, but the socks are awesome regardless. And if you think wool is just for the cold - not this wool. If I had enough pairs I would wear them 365 days per year. I have enough to wear them at least 300 days a year. It’s the only clothing I own that I hand wash, which is what I recommend. At the risk of stating the obvious, do not put them in the dryer.

The best IMO
This is the 5th pair of these that I have purchased. My favorite thing about them is that they do not smell after a few wearings. Does this mean I am a slob? Perhaps. My least favorite thing about them is that the stitching that makes the top folded down comes undone after a few months. But I wear them a lot, for every day running shoes/walking and in my hiking boots. They are a bit pricey but well worth the cost. I don't know about you, but my feet are dear and worth it!

Excellent fit and comfort for running trails
I recently took my second trail run with these socks, and I’m very impressed with them. I purchased an XL size for my shoe size 13, and they fit perfectly. They’re extremely comfortable. Hopefully, they will prove to be durable over the next year or so. Even without proven durability—at this point in my limited experience with them—I went ahead and purchased a second pair today because they are now my favorite socks for hikes and runs.

Good, but not best
An excellent sock, one of the best I've owned. I ordered this and the Darn Tough 1/4 Light Cushion socks at the same time to compare; I found the Darn Tough sock to have a more pleasant texture to the foot, and it would definitely be my pick between the two. This is a great sock, but there are slightly better ones in the same price range.

best hiking socks I own
Seriously the best hiking socks I've owned yet. I only wear Smartwool socks when hiking but the gray/black pair with red stripe has lasted the longest and retained its thickness better than my other smartwool socks. Hold up well in washer/dryer. Dont hold in smells. Dry out super fast too! I've topped my boot a few times this year hiking and a couple hours later they are just a little damp

Best socks
I've tried every major brand of socks and had decent luck with Asics but now after several washes they're too constricting and cause foot pain. These smartwool socks feel perfect. Tight but not restricting, very cushioned, don't stick to skin, perfect temperature, and they're stink resistant. I love these socks 10/10

Great for cold-weather running
I have used these socks for years for cold-weather running. The ankle is high enough to fit under tights in cold weather, and the cushioning is perfect for trail running. I've tried other brands, but I always come back to these.
