It works well
This is my 3rd KVM in about as many years. I’ve been in search of a KVM that reliably works for multiple monitors, HD resolutions, and HDMI/DisplayPort. Previously, I had looked at KVMs with DisplayPort Multistream Transport (MST) but this proved to be very finicky and not supported by MacOS.So I went with this KVM with true dual head support and so far I’ve been very happy. I have it connected to a Windows 10 desktop and laptop, a Mac mini, and Intel NUC running Fedora. It is working for all of them. Switching is pretty fast, maybe about a second. Other KVMs this seemed slower, so I’m happy with this.I have both monitors connected via DisplayPort. The computers are connected variously, some with two DisplayPort and others with one DP and one HDMI. I was concerned this wouldn’t work, but it does just fine.A couple things to note comparing to other KVMs. This has a feature of independently switching usb, i.e switching KVM, but leaving USB ports locked to a particular pc. This does mean that there are two usb cables required for each pc (one usb 1/2.0 for keyboard and mouse and one usb 3.0 for other peripherals)The only thing I’m a little disappointed in is that the console USB input ports are on the front with none on the rear, so if you have this on a desk it looks a little ugly. I keep my kvm out of view and use the keyboard hot keys to switch inputs so not a big deal.As with any KVM, quality video cables are a must, but I’m currently using a few different brands of DP and HDMI cables with no issues and none are super expensive, I just avoided super cheap cables.
