I LOVE Aiden!
Let me begin by stating this one simple but very true fact...I have ALWAYS been team Aiden!I never wavered. I never jumped on the Seth bandwagon. NEVER. I knew what that kid was all about. Yep!You might want to read Deity before reading this little bad boy because it will spoil Deity for you if read it first. I also want to mention you want to read this one before reading Apollyon. I haven't read Apollyon yet but it just seems like the most natural thing to do.Elixir is Aiden's story. It is hard to really review this one without spoilers because absolutely everything about it is spoiler-ish. What I will say is that you get to understand Aiden on a deeper level and his thought process. Elixir picks up right where Deity ends diving into a month long description of "holy crap that just happened". This was pretty awesome because when I tell you that Deity's ending was crazy, I do mean it was crazy and it was nice to know what has happened since then, sooner rather than later. At any rate it was awesome being in Aiden's head. He's not perfect. There are flaws. However, his flaws and imperfections come from wanting to do the right thing and living an honorable life. He has a beautiful soul and a beautiful heart. I was already in love with Aiden before Deity and Elixir. Deity and Elixir just intensified that feeling and reconfirmed what I already knew he was all about.Deity and Elixir also made me love the series even more. I honestly believe this is the best series JLA has to date and it is also the most consistent. This world is a very strong one with interesting characters and wonderful surprises. Love it!"Love is such a wild and reckless creature. It cannot be planned or threaded. It cannot be controlled. Love can coexist with Fate, or it can undo it. Love is the only thing more powerful than Fate."P.S. On another note: I didn't take points or stars off for this but it was a bit annoying. .. I'm reading Elixir and I read Elixir until the very last page on my Kindle. Lo and behold, there is a little blurb stating that all novellas in this series and other series are available to download for free, always, at Spencer Hill Publishing. I paid for my copy. Why have it on sale if it will always be available for free in a bunch of other formats I could have downloaded instead on the publisher's website? Or have it as an option to buy permanently. Feels shady. Sorry.Go to the website folks...We may now continue with our previously scheduled programming...

Aiden St. Delphi!!!!!!!
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE PREVIOUS BOOKS.I dare you not to fall in love with Aiden St. Delphi after reading Elixir. This book makes it painfully clear that there is absolutely nothing he will not do for Alex. This includes pissing off a bunch of gods.Elixir was a wonderful novella and it helped me cope with that killer ending in Deity. It didn't make everything better, but it will give the reader a feeling a hope. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, if only Aiden and Alex are strong enough to make it there. I personally have faith, and if they don't make it, I may just go curl up in a ball for the rest of my life. The Alex we see in Elixir is a very different Alex from the one we have all come to know and love. For reasons I will not go into, Alex is almost a new person. I really missed her attitude, snark, and her vivacious personality.Poor Aiden is forced to make some very tough choices on behalf of Alex in Elixir, because she really is in no place to make them for herself. I just wanted to hug him and make him feel better. He spends a good portion of the novella torturing himself over this, but in the end he will always do what is right by Alex.I really loved getting inside Aiden's head and finally seeing what goes on in there. Aiden has always been a tough one to crack and Elixir was very illuminating. We all know by now that he loves Alex, but I don't think anyone realized just how much he truly loves her until you see his thoughts and understand just how deep those feelings go."And I finally understood why Paris had risked his country and his blood for Helen. Selfish, yes, but I understood. I would burn down the world if that meant Alex would be safe."This is by far my favorite JLA novella to date! Yes, Daimon and Shadows are great, but there is just something truly outstanding about Elixir. All in all, it is a great novella that will help give the readers some hope and peace of mind as we wait for Apollyon.

A Must Read for Series Fans!
I found myself bored last night and didn't really want to start a full novel just yet, so I decided to read one of the many novellas in my TBR mountain! Elixir was my top choice! I loooooove Jennifer L. Armentrout's books! And Elixir, a mere novella was simply beautiful!Apparently, it's important to read this one before Apollyon and if I recall correctly, Jennifer says that this one is going to be in with Apollyon so readers can read it first. In this one as we know from Deity, Alex has been awakened, but it's not a good thing. It means Seth can control her now...or she him if she were able. But her mind has been changed and not for the better. She is raging and picking fights with Aiden and had to be locked up for her protection. Apollo's conclusion is that Alex must take the Elixir, the one that servants take when they are given to masters, for it will buy them time to find a permanent cure and keep Seth away from her. It makes them docile and obedient. Aiden didn't want to do that to Alex, but after much convincing from the others and seeing Alex slipping further away from him, he agrees. The new Alex, or Alexandria is nothing like the Alex we know and love. She's quiet, meek and frightened it seems and Aiden is her new master. Something Aiden wasn't too thrilled with. But as he spends time with her, he is reminded all over again why he loves her. And he even begins to see parts of the old Alex in this new Alexandria. For a quick read, it was still enjoyable! Hoping that I can remember everything by the time I get Apollyon! The ending was pretty surprising as Aiden makes a few decisions that will likely be the catalyst for what we see in Apollyon! So if you're already in love with this series, I highly recommend reading this one!

Aiden
