Wifi does not work, so it is not dimmable, among other issues
Updating review to reflect that the supplier of this product was easy to work with and responsive. All issues have been resolved to my satisfaction so star rating has been changed to 4 stars. The fan controller and remote appear to work fine while the wifi does not work at all. It does not broadcast an SSID and does not show up in the app's auto discover, so there is no way to connect to it to configure it. The instructions provided are extremely poorly written and difficult to understand so make sure you know how to wire one of these without the instructions. For example, there are two different methods listed for "resetting" the device, with a third method listed in the app (for real!). They also want you to report the status of a light or "buzzer" which does not exist. As a result of the lack of wifi, it cannot be controlled via app or smart home voice assistant which is the only way to control the dimming.Other than that, it's fine and works well as a simple fan/light remote. The supplier is responsive, helpful, and worked with me to ensure my satisfaction.

Best option around for smart home fan control
Just installed my first one and promptly put in an order for 2 more. As easy to install as any other fan controller. Was easy to set up with the app after I found the button combination to get the device in pairing mode (the app pairing mode instructions weren’t right). Worked well with google including adding a separate light, fan, and combo option for google voice commands. Few options for this exist, especially with the option to dim the light and at this price point.I only give the remote control 4 stars because I’m not a fan of the bulky remote style (the fan came with a much more attractive option that I wish worked with this Wi-Fi controller) but the quality is on par with other fans that have the same remote style. Will update the review if I have any long term issues.

Light and Fan turn on Randomly
EDIT: Second device turns on and off randomly as well. it has a different code. The two I got are not like the photo, they have NO DIP SWITCHES, so changing codes for interference is not an option, I'm sure they are just Cheep Chinese Junk :-( Reduced rating down from 4 to 3 starsI wake up, and the fan is on, I sit there and the light or fan just turn on (or off) for no reason. Now power flux or failures, just completely random events. :-(Otherwise it seems to work ok. The dimming of the light is not as easy as other lights, I have to press and hold sometimes two or three times before it dims/brightens, but voice seems to work fine.Hudson Bay fan

Perfect replacement
I have a 25 year old Honeywell fan that has the controller imbedded in the fan, as well as the 19 year old stand-alone kit on the master bedroom fan. This remote worked perfectly. This remote is slightly lighter than the original, due to the technology. The old was flooded with components inside, where this appear to be a single chip. Also, the switches are different. The old one had a metal type contact on the rubber button that would make contact to two traces on the circuit board. Eventually those contact on the board or rubber button wear out and there is no fixing them after a few years of disassembly and cleaning. This new remote has a click type feeling like a real switch, vs. a mushy rubber feel. While I didn't take the new remote apart, I feel that I would be able to replace the switch for a buck if needed.Very happy overall that this dip-switch programmable remote is still available.

Cheap easy way to upgrade standard fan to smart fan with some Alexa issues
Install was easy enough. Set it up with little to no problems but the light on and off doesn’t seem available through the Alexa app only the Tuya smart app. I didn’t want or need the lights on option cause I never use my fan as a light, however, when the power goes out and comes back on the lights come on - others stated the lights randomly coming on, this is probably what happened to them. And seeing as I can’t set a timer for the lights if you’re on vacation and this happens they’ll just be on til you return home. Pretty annoying. Thinking of disconnecting the wire for the lights all together but I’d rather not have to.I was really just hoping to hide my ugly fan remote and be able to use Alexa. And this does kinda work for that but with its own flaws.

It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.
I installed it myself and it tucked nicely into the ceiling fan mount.I have it linked to my Amazon Alexa. When using voice commands, it wants to hear “Fan Speed 1, Fan Speed 2, or Fan Speed 3”I created Routines in the Alexa app that I can call out “Bedroom Fan Low, Medium, or High”I can’t express how much better this works then the the built in voice control of the fan that I had before. (Starts with “H” and ends with “unter”)

Works better than the original fan remote set-up! Very happy with it so far.
