Well Worth a Few Extra Dollars
I previously owned a hose storage container that was a little less expensive but the hose always had to be pulled fully out of the box to undo the kink. That kink was caused by the hose attachment that was aligned with the reel. This inevitably required a 90 degree turn (and so the kink) to wind the hose. Bad design. This container aligns the connection with the exact direction the hose will travel so, no kink and I always have full water pressure whether the hose is pulled entirely out or not. Add to that the automatic guide that moves the hose across the reel (and itself) as you turn the crank. Theoretically you never have to touch the hose. A heavy duty hose is provided to connect the box to your water supply.I did add one thing..ok, 3 things actually. I added a trio of tent pegs, the type that screw into the ground. They hold the container firmly so it isn't hopping around as you turn the crank (a frequent complaint by owners of these things).Hopefully this all plastic container will hold up for a few years under the Phoenix area sun.

Husband loved it
Really nice reel and looks great too. I hope it holds up as well as our first reel, which we probably had for 20+ years. My husband takes them in in the winter and ours sits in the shade pretty much all day. We’ll see how this one holds up.

3 1/3 stars
I purchased two of these. This item is a mixed bag. The plastic feels very light and cheap and I don’t expect it to last long because of that, especially with the intense sun we get here in the summer. (But who knows…) The connector hose provided was broken on one of the units, and water poured out between the metal connector and the hose. The coiling mechanism and the crank handle seem to work great and are very easy to use. I would buy these again because of the easy crank handle, but if I knew for sure that something similar was better quality and likely to last longer and work just as well, I would buy that instead. It can be hard to tell these things when you’re shopping online.

Cheap Junk
This is the cheapest made hose reel I ever had. I reeled a 100' hose and not even 10' in on a 50' hose it jammed. At 100' the hose is almost to the top of the end caps of the reel itself. Once I started to reel the next 50' hose, the hose wound over the end cap and jammed the entire thing up. Trying to unwind the hose was such a struggle. The housing is such cheap plastic that it would just start to collapse on itself. To unwind the hose, you need to use the handle and pull the hose at the same time. It is too flimsy to pull just the hose and if you don't pull the hose while using the handle the drum will just spin. Do not let the drum spin without the hose coming out of the housing. This made it bind up more. Finally got the hose free and unwound the entire amount of hose. That's when I noticed the plastic piece where you attach the hose on the drum is now cracked and leaks water pretty bad. Cheap hard plastic. If it wasn't such a hassle to return product to Amazon this would definitely be going back. I did fix the leak with JB weld. And reeled only the 100' hose on. To get the 100' hose on I had to keep tension on the hose and make sure that it wound perfectly onto the drum. I would not put more than 100' on this. I guess this is what I get for going cheap.

A Watering Game-Changer!
The media could not be loaded. We’ve had this hose reel for almost two years now, and I’m honestly so impressed with how well it’s held up. Living in New York means we bring it inside during winter (just to be safe), but even with regular summer use, it still looks and works like new.The Smart Trak guide is genius—no more fighting with a tangled hose! It winds up smoothly every single time, which makes watering our garden so much easier. I also love that we haven't had any connection leaks. The heavy-duty resin hasn’t faded or cracked despite being outside all summer. It holds our 225-foot hose with no problem, and the brown finish still looks nice in our yard. I like knowing that it’s made in the USA.If you’re tired of dealing with a messy, kinked-up hose, this reel is worth every penny. Two years in, and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat! 10/10 recommend. 🌟I'm attaching a short video but it works just as well with a longer amount of hose.

Great
Great purchase. We have it outside of our home and they are very durable and help us maintain the hose organized.
