Excellent Carving Board for the Price
Considering the price, this is an excellent carving board — boards from specialty sites can cost four or five times as much. I have a large cutting board that I use for prep (chopping veggies, meat, etc.), and I bought this board to supplement it. I intend to use it only for carving cooked meats and poultry, as the groove will capture the delicious juices and prevent them from running all over my counter. (Unlike this board, my other board does not have a juice groove, nor would I want a groove on a board used mainly for chopping veggies, etc.). The quality of the Boos board is very high. It's made of solid kiln-dried edge grain rock maple, an ideal wood for carving boards. (End grain would be a better choice for a board that will be used for chopping as it is easier on knife edges, but for slicing and carving it doesn't make much difference.) The Boos board is also quite substantial and very well constructed, in my opinion, and I have to question claims that it is prone to splitting. I suspect that many of those complaints are due to damage in shipping or to improper care of the board (e.g., putting it in the dishwasher or letting it soak in the sink). Wash it quickly after use with a mild detergent, rinse it well, dry it thoroughly, oil it from time to time with food-grade mineral oil, and it should last for years.

Beautiful, quality cutting board
Beautiful heavy duty cutting board! Bought this for myself for Christmas and it didn't dissapoint. Also bought the mystery oil which I used on several other wood boards/utensils and it revived them nicely.

Cutting board perfection.
This was a gift for my daughter in law. She was thrilled with it. Said it was exactly what she had been looking for. So, from her perspective it’s perfect. It’s heavy with a drainage ditch around it. Very nice 👍.

The best cutting board worth ever dollar
Perfect for cutting meat and it’s beautiful . I have several John Boos cutting boards and have purchased several as gifts. Some I have had for many years and with daily use it’s still great. Just make sure to properly oil it and will last for ever

Cutting block for the kitchen
I have been using this cutting block daily for over a year and it is sturdy - well made and looks really good in the kitchen. Now I know why so many chefs use this brand on TV - well worth the investment.

Awesome
My boyfriend loved it. He is very picky with cutting boards and says this one is awesome.

Not as well made as you think
The board looks great and is very heavy and thought this would be the best one as it was highly rated. However, after three months, it is cracking right along the seams where the boards are bound together. It’s never been soaked in water. It’s been properly maintained and cared for and at this point, I would not recommend this product. Unless they replace it. I wrote the company that shipped it and they stand on their 30 day policy without exception. Look at the other reviews that shows this board cracking just after 30 days. They KNOW it’s going to crack. BOOS is a reputable company, so I thought. I have a Walmart wooden board over 15 years old still in great shape. I wanted the bigger size! Never again BOOS and never ever again this supplier.

Maple boards are the best on knives and your health.
Very small...so choose wisely. Advice from professional knife sharpeners is that Maple is the best wood to keep your knives sharper longer and overall healthier for you. Harder boards can dull your knives quicker. Cutting into plastic & composites can get into your food.

Came in perfect condition. Time will tell if it remains stable or warps/cracks. Giving it through oiling and board cream.

Even after taking care of it, the cutting board started splitting and deforming. Hand washed every time I used it and applied oil often and yet it's still not in good condition. Not worth the price, and the amount of hassle to maintain the cutting board just to have it break on you is upsetting. I
