Does it have the wire cutter ?

Yes, yes it does have a wire cutter. In my opinion the sheath could be better and I’d be careful in when using that feature. Also because of the quality of the sheath isn’t quite there in comparison to others It may be best to consider an after market one if you really want to use the wire cutter feature, it be safer as to not run the risk of the lug on the sheath breaking as it seems not be very strong on this one and it potentially can lead to looping off some of your fingers. YouTube has some great vids in comparing after market sheaths of these types of bayonets with this feature of various brands. Main problem is I think the hole for the wire cutter lug that is on the blade, may be smaller than most other lugs on other sheaths (with a bit modification to a lug on a separate sheath, carefully done with a dremel will & can work). Honestly, I think this bayonet it really just works best as a fighting knife or as, well....a bayonet. Has a better weight and balance to it than an M9 bayonet and is definitely much sharper in both its sawback teeth and edge. Thin grip but not bad, overall feels solid in the hand. What type of steel is used?

This knife is made from 7Cr17MoV steel. It is very similar to 440A stainless steel. It’s an “entry level” steel that is widely used for budget knives. By no means is this considered “cheap” steel. It is very rust resistant, and while it is a softer steel, it will hold up well under all but the most strenuous circumstances. Because it is a softer steel, it will be easier to sharpen - but the downside to that it won’t hold an edge as well as better knives.
