I rehab orphaned wild birds, and when they're nestlings they need to be kept warm. I tried small reptile heaters from a retail outlet but they lacked temperature control and were very small. This heating unit has a temperature control, is large enough to heat a substantial area, and is flat, fitting easily under a plastic tote. It works great and the control allows me to set the heating level so there won't be any burn injuries for delicate little nestlings. Perfect!

Product works great.i bought it about 7 months ago and run it 24/7.At near full power, base temperature is about 85 degrees. Others are correct that the slightest adjustment on the wheel can change the temperature greatly.I bought cheap felt pad to place over it so i can have it in the tank. Dragons love sleeping on the warm pad.

Perfect warming mat for our hermit crab! Thin and lightweight allows it to be easily taped to glass. Warmth is adjusted by a turn dial and provides enough heat to keep humidity levels perfect for our hermie. Great value!

I wrapped one around the back and sides of my epax X1 to keep it warm in my 65f basement. It is an excellent fit as it ramps fully around the back and the sides with only small gaps on each end. It's the best fit of any of the similar heating pads I could find on Amazon.I had to use a heat gun to gently warm it enough so it would cleanly wrap around the corners, but once wrapped into place the adhesive held it quite well. The built-in heating control dial isn't calibrated but with just a bit of experimentation you can find the setting for the temperature you want to keep. After adhering it to the epax I made a jacket of reflectix insulation. With the jacket in place the temperature in various points inside the epax build chamber didn't vary by more than about three degrees Fahrenheit.

Love the units but purchased over 12 of them and they came in with NO temp controllers. Inspect when you get them - Amazon made good on the heat pads.

I've used other brands of heat mats, the stick on types and tape on type. This model is confusing as one side of the mat has white paper backing and the black side which I presume is the heating side the electrical connector has a large bump, so taping the mat with the black side facing 'up' towards the tank is impossible, you need to tape it 'down' to get the mat as flat as possible. The 'instructions' that came with the mat are basically useless as it does not clarify which direction to place the mat, just to tape down the clear edges. It also mentions 'sticky feet' are included and of the 3 mats that I ordered none of them came with sticky feet. I use wire racks so that is not a problem for airflow but the company should deliver what the say comes with the mat. I use a thermostat controller so the dial is turned up to full and then taped in place so we'll see how that goes. I'd not buy these mats again based on my mentioned reasons. No I cannot recommend these mats unless improvements are made by the company.

I received this back in August for use in a YouTube Video where I would heat up water which I shot yesterday. Luckily I had an older one from another seller as I plugged this in and cranked it up to full (usually a 20W will heat the water to around 100F which is perfect) but this thing never even got warm. Test it immediately as I am well past my return window. The product looks like quality but sadly if it doesn't work it really doesn't matter.

Good temperature. It gets very hot and easy to change temperature. Only bad thing is that its a pretty big heatpad. Good for big tanks but didn't expect it to be that big lol.
