Instructions could be better. But once installed works great.

We have three sliders from our kitchen to our deck and have enjoyed the Autoslide on 2 of them for a couple of years now. It was time to add a third.Installation went fairly smooth given that I had already done this twice. We had requested a longer pinion gear per their suggestion, but they ignored our request and sent only the standard gear.Somewhere along the line, Autoslide changed their remote wall switch from a pushbutton operated switch to a capacitance touch switch. While they are a little more stylish and seem robust, they performance was spotty. At times, you barely tap it and activates. At other times you could push as hard or light as you want and nothing happens. Very unreliable.It turns out that Autoslide uses a piece of double sided tape inside the unit to adhere the touch surface to the printed circuit board. Their customer service personnel had me take the unit apart and press the board into the tape. Because the tape had lost its adhesion, this wasn't a remedy. Both switches that came with the unit acted the same way.I asked to be sent the old-style buttons which have proven to be reliable as a warranty replacement, but they refused. They stated it's not their fault because "they don't manufacture the tape" and that I would have to pay for replacements. WTF?I have to believe this was the decision of an unempowered minimum wage operator and not an official company position but nevertheless as was appalled at their response.We reluctantly paid for the replacements because we have a party upcoming and wanted all three doors to work.Bottom Line - They have a defect in their touch wall switches and they refuse to correct it. Accordingly, I would rate this Company as VERY POOR.

The auto slide opener was not engineered to be installed on normal sliding glass doors that don't have at least 2" space between door frame and track. I had to add a 2"x3"x23" wooden header in just the right location, and then had to VERY CAREFULLY secure the auto slide mechanism to the header, being careful to allow just the precise amount of space for door clearance. The end result is OK but the door opens about half way at full speed, then slows but eventually opens fully, then shuts fine. It actually allows me more time to exit and re-enter. The mechanism and controls all seem to be robust and function fine.

I bought my autoslide thru amazon due to I was unsure of product and the amazon easy return policy.The autoslide installed easily and works great. The two remotes save me a lot of trips to let the dogs out. Wanted the pet triggers but waited until I knew how the main unit would work.After operating and observing dogs for 2 weeks I chose to order a single microwave detector to let the dogs come back inside due to the fact that they rarely return at the same time. This detector works very well and I am going to pass on a detector to let the dogs leave the house uncontrolled.Very pleased with Autoslide and I’m hopeful it will serve me well into the future.

I'm totally disillusioned the product did not come with the 2 Motion sensors shown in the picture it come with 2 Remote Control

This product was returned exactly as received as one feature didn’t work. Refunded minus fee saying we damaged and had to pay return shipping. Like the idea will go with a different product in the future.

I give it 4 stars because it works well but was bitch to install on my wooden framed Anderson sliding doors...

If your door layout requires the unit to be mounted on the outside be aware that this does not take rain, cold temperatures especially snow and ice at all. I live in the Midwest and my first unit had to have the power end cap replaced due to corrosion after a summer. I was sent a replacement end cap this one looked better designed to resist corrosion. Very soon after the weather turned cold the unit failed completely. To their credit the manufacturer replaced the full unit without much hassle. The replacement unit started to malfunction againdue to cold as well. I have since changed the door layout to allow the unit to be installed inside. So far this is working okay.
