Needs M48 - T2 adapter as well.
Don't forget to buy the m48 - T2 adapter as well. You need a minimum of 2 rings to link your baden planetarium hyperion zoom eyepiece to your canon rebel EOS. Buy both and you'll be in business in no time. Works flawlessly though once completed with both T rings. I wish they would have told me this T ring required another T ring to work with my setup, would have saved me a long time.

It's plenty sturdy for this purpose
I purchased this to digiscope a canon DSLR to a Pentax SMC XW telescope eyepiece. It's plenty sturdy for this purpose. Perhaps other reviewers are right and the 43mm eyepiece diameter is completely unnecessary and a greedy corporate conspiracy but I suspect it's just a physics thing and it requires a wider eyepiece body to permit the field of view advertised by the eyepiece manufacturer. The bottom line is that this adapter is the cheapest piece of astronomy gear I own so it's hard to complain. My setup is: Canon SL2 DSLR ---> Celestron T-ring adapter (42mm) ---> Baader Planetarium Hyperion T-Adapter (42mm--->43mm) ---> Pentax SMC XW eyepiece (43mm) ---> Celestron C-6 telescope.

Fits Pentax XW eyepiece to T ring DSLR adapter.
Works perfectly to link up my Pentax XW eyepiece with the T ring adapter for my DSLR. This means that I can take photographs directly from my DSLR through the Pentax eyepieces from my telescope. Stunning images.

OK but it could be sturdier. Questionable weather or not you want to mount a $1000 camera to it. Way overpriced for what it is.

Does what you think it does
Just make sure you get enough little slivers of t-2 extension. It is much harder than I thought to find the right distance from the eyepiece to the camera.
