amazing
Nyla never disappoints me!Oh my god, I was obsessed with this book from page one. One female crush and two male crushes added to my long list of fantasies. This whole series is everything and it’s not nearly finished yet. The smut was amazing, 4/5.All three main characters are so interesting and bring so much to the story. And I understand book one a lot better after seeing the events from a different view point.Definitely recommend.

This crazy world. I am obsessed.
Hottest book I've ever read!! This was my first ever mmf book. I like it but didnt love it. Even though I found it to be so hot I didn't connect with Joy as much as I thought I would have. She a great character but there was something missing for me. The love making parts were great, so hot. I think it was her personally I didn't like. But it doesn't take away how amazing this world is. There is no other series out there like it. It's brilliant. By the end of the book I connected more with joy after learning more about her and seeing how she fitted with the guys.If you have read this yet please read distorted first otherwise you won't really understand very much IMO.This is Joy's, Rook and Velle book. They work in Alabaster Penitentiary as correctional officers. This place houses the worst criminals in the USA. This book will blow your mind."If these walls could talk, I’m telling you… they’d scream."MUST READ.

Another great book in this series, can’t wait to read book 3 & 4 which I’m about to jump straight into :)

3.5 stars
I have conflicting feelings about Joyless: on the one hand the MM scenes were deliciously sensual and explicitly detailed (the author’s treatment of this is pretty spot-on); on the other hand outside of those scenes there was a distinct lack of ‘feeling’ imbued in the story; it seemed rather impersonal.I don’t know whether the harsh and unforgiving setting of the Alabaster Penitentiary fully lends itself to such dispassion, or not. But that aspect of the writing just didn’t work for me, and outside of the budding relationship between Velle and Rook, I felt disinterested in much of the content of the story, and the other characters.

A great edition to Alabaster Penitentiary.
So I actually found this book a little slower to get into than Distorted. I have no idea why, but it took a little to get into the story but by 45% I was fully immersed and obsessed with Joy, Harley & Velle 😍 their relationship was so easy to read, and very spicy indeed.I really liked the idea of the behind the scenes of the Penitentiary. I felt like we got to know more about the ins and outs of the prison itself and who was really running it...some very interesting information was presented and surprised me!As usual, Nyla K has a way of writing that just hypnotised the reader. At least, for me! I cannot wait for the next edition to this series.

Rookie, you're my cookie
Wow... I couldn't wait to get back into the fcked up world of Alabaster Pen.Nyla didn't disappoint.I got a whole new view on Rookie, and found out how the prison really runs. Ivory has never really been anyone's shade... Oh the things I need to say.I am still reeling from I read. I'll do my best not to spill anything out... Unlike some of the characters🤣🤣Read it and you'll know! The dial of twisted was still hitting 80 and the smůt well that's off the chartsJoyless opens our eyes a little more to how prisoner 101 really survived..I still have questions that I need answered... I need to re-read Disturbed.Nyla give me book 3 & no one will get hurt.

This was HOT
Ok this was HOT. I never thought I’d like Velle after distorted but I definitely did 😍 I’m not the biggest MMF/MFM fan because I always worry about someone being left out but that was definitely not the case. I loved the 3 of them together, they were truly perfect. The spice was 🤌🏽 From the times together and separate you could see how much they adorned each other. I loved how the timeline added with distorted and you get to see more of what Dash was going through as well. I’m obsessed with this series and I can’t wait for the next!

This series is only getting better as it goes!!
1st person/multiple POVSpice: 5/5 - whew!I have been telling myself to continue this series since I finished the first book Distorted sometime at the end of last year. I am so glad I finally did! I love everything about this series. The first book was full of twists and had my mind whirling, but this one did too just in a different way. The twist here wasn't in the story itself, it was in the fact that I completely misjudged one of the characters in book one. And you know what, I think it is one of my favorite things to happen in a book. I love how I can go from practically hating a character only to do a complete 180 and fall for them, understand them, sympathize with them, and even cheer for them. To me it shows a character is well written when you can simultaneously love and loathe them to the same degree. This book offered me that other side of the events that happened in Distorted where I was able to do just that. It also gave me a new MMF pairing that can rival the one from this author's novel Push and I honestly didn't think that was possible because let me tell you, I LOVE that book. The dynamic of this group here is wonderful because even though each person has their own sort of role they play within it, they are all so versatile and comfortable with each other that they have the ability to switch around in those roles when they want. A person can go from being submissive to dominant and back again without it creating any awkwardness or tension between the three of them. Outside of the bedroom their roles compliment each other in a way that gives them the balance and support they all need to get through living and working on this island. It really is beautiful to see how that gradually changes things for one of them from the beginning of the book to the end. This book also gave me a new villain to focus on. While I feel like we had this character as a villain in the first book he wasn't the main focus for my animosity at the time, not like Officer Velle was. But now? Now he has all of the focus. There is so much more to this particular character than I originally thought, and the mystery behind him is so thrilling that it took this part of the story to another level. Then you have this intense and mysterious setup of other characters in this world that runs parallel to what you're currently reading about. Those moments are important to the story in front of you but also gives you a peek at the path their individual storylines could go. The way the author planned out every little detail across this series and has them linking to each other in ways that are not always obvious at first is phenomenal. While I wasn't sure that I would enjoy a set up like this, where some of the same events are being told from different perspectives on this shared timeline, I have found myself anticipating the next situation that could cross over to see how it differs from the point of views I've already experienced it from. The suspense has me in a chokehold and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds in the next installment Brainwashed!

5 Stars All Day Everyday!
I really loved Distorted so going into Joyless I was nervous because I hated Velle so much in Distorted. Wow is all I can say. This may be my favourite book I’ve read this month.I absolutely loved the connection between all three of them but honestly I just fell in love with Velle. I’ve never had an experience where I’ve despised a character in one book and then completely fell in love with them in another. The steamy scenes in this book were also absolutely phenomenal! Nyla girl… oooof the spice was epic. This book was a wild ride and really gave me a completely different outlook on Alabaster Pen. I loved seeing it from the outlook of the guards. I’m really looking forward Darcey’s book! This is definitely a 5 star read for me!
