Sometimes We Get What We Need Even When We Think It Is Not What We Want
I have been waiting on pins and needles for this book. In prior books about the Montgomerys' Meghan was in a bad marriage and her husband finally left her. How I wished at the time Meghan had been the one to leave, but she was too beaten down from the verbal abuse and concern over her two children. I wanted her to heal and find happiness. I wanted her husband to get a nasty comeuppance. With blood involved, that was how much I disliked him. So I anxiously started to read this book the day it was released. I wanted blood, but instead I got a lesson in real life. How a verbally battered woman learns to love and trust and reach out to those who love her. It is not an easy transition, and it is almost miraculous how it happened. Definitely worth reading about. Oh, and the author did not disappoint me, there's some blood or two or three in this story as well. Great book.

The Montgomerys suffer from the Cabot Cove Syndrome
This is an enjoyable series of books that chronicle the union of the Montgomery siblings with the loves of their lives. The characters are fully fleshed out. Albeit predictable Ms. Ryan writes of the events occurring with this family in a compelling and engaging manner. If you don't know what the Cabot Cove syndrome is you are either too young or didn't spend Sunday night's with Jessica Fletcher watching Murder She Wrote. Jessica lived in a tiny town in Maine, called Cabot Cove, where people were murdered almost on a weekly basis. That should have killed tourism in the sleepy town. The only weeks there wasn't a homicide was when Jessica was traveling, in which case the killing happened wherever she went. This series should have anyone reconsidering entering into a relationship with one of the Montgomeries. It seems dangerous things happen to this tight knit clan regularly when one of them falls in love. But I must admit that didn't bother me. The reason I didn't give the book five stars was because there was too much layering in the narrative to explain what happened between books. I felt that dragged out the main plotline far longer than it needed to be. There are very, very vague hints of bigotry and crimes committed to discredit the only person in the narrative who is identified as non-Caucasian. I feel the author was afraid to have her characters be outright racist. Instead more weight was given to a weak ploy by the egocentric ex-husband to get full custody of his children solely to further his social standing.A hint, Ms. Ryan, if you are going to write an interracial romance, either put the racial conflict front and center or don't make it a part of the plot at all except for a few ignorant glances (which you included) or remarks that could be cut down by any one of the characters, including the savvy children.Don't be afraid to deal with the issue from your or Meghan's point of view. The racism doesn't always come from white people. All in all an entertaining narrative which I recommend.

I loved Meghan and Luc's story.
I was so excited when I saw that Meghan was getting her own story. I have always been interested in Meghan every since she was first mentioned as one of the M&M's. Meghan shows such strength in her care of her family, I wanted to see her have that strength in herself as well. Luc was a strong support for Meghan growing up they were very close. When Meghan gets married Luc can not stay so he leaves town. When things change it is difficult to see Meghan and Luc struggle to have a relationship again. I was attached from the first time Luc and Meghan spent time together, I was cheering for them to work through all their challenges to be a couple. Luc was very patient with Meghan and already was loved by the rest of the family. This was probably my favorite book in the Montgomery Ink series so far. I did not set the book down until I had read the whole thing. It was such a powerful journey to be on with two of my favorite characters.

This is my favorite Montgomery Ink book so far!
I think this has to be my favorite Montgomery Ink book to date! Carrie Ann Ryan OH MY WORD you had me in tears! Finally Finally Finally I got what I have been wanting for so long. I can not say in my review what I wanted, nor what happened; because I am not one of those reviewers who gives away the story line. I will say this.... where ever you are reading Harder Than Words you need to make sure you have a box of Kleenex handy. This book touches all the bases for me. Oh WOW! This could not have been an easy book to write by any mean for our author but she not only did it with grace, she did it wonderfully,I knew when it showed up on my kindle because my screen lite up. My husband woke me up to tell me that my kindle beeped. (I'm deaf) He knew I was expecting 2 books from my favorite authors today and I could not choose which to read first, He said whichever BEEPED in first he would wake me up and I could read it."Harder Than Words" hit my kindle at 5am Texas time and was a wonderful wake up call from Carrie Ann Ryan,Grab a copy and Get to know Luc Dodd and Meghan Montgomery-Warren and her beautiful kids Cliff and Sasha. Come see how a real family leans on each other even when someone has a hard head and puts up walls. If you have not read the other books in the series grab them and read them. Each book is a stand alone but it will help you understand the family dynamics if you read ALL of the books.

Five Stars
Wow really loving this Montgomery series!!! I could not put this book down once I started!! Loved Meghan and Luc together and the two kids Sasha and Cliff were so cute!! Be ready for the tissue though...very emotional story! Book deals with emotional abuse from Meghan's ex husband. Can Luc and Meghan finally admit their feelings for each other or will people pull them apart?? Definitely a one click buy!!

Rediscovering your Best Friend, plus more!
How do you pull yourself back together after years of emotional torment, how do you feel worthy of the love right in front of you, how did you miss the feelings your best friend had for you??Meghan has so much to overcome, so many questions to answer, but with a little bit of faith and trust, in what they once shared and what could be, letting Luc back in could be the best decision of her life, all Luc has to do is convince her of all that!!!

Missing something
This wasn't my favourite Montgomery story but still good although Meghan came off a little whiney at times
