Great phone for 12 year old
Purchased LG B470 (unlocked) 3G GSM cell phone.Model name: LGB470. Hardware Version: 1.0. Software version: B47010c.It does have the AT&T logo on the center button and outer front cover. But it IS unlocked.Bought it for 12-year old son.Immediately connected to T-Mobile with absolutely no problems. This particular T-Mobile service we selected is strictly voice and texting plan only. No data plan. So, of course, pictures are not able to be texted in or out. And of course the browser does not have internet. The previous phone we had (BLU Diva Flex 2.4) was 2G only, and had connection issues at certain locations. From what I've heard, more and more phone services are getting rid of their 2G service cell locations. This B470 has 3G capability. So it performs and connects much better. Have not had any connection, missed phone calls, or incoming/outgoing texting problems.Phone call quality is great. Loudness is good.Comes with quite a selection of ringtones and message tones.Has message interval options, so can chime your text messages again, if you miss them (only once, or every 2 min, 5 min, 10 min, or 15 min).Uses predictive texting method. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any way to set to any other texting method. But we like this method better anyways. (Just thought I'd mention it, in case somebody doesn't like it).We are planning on switching to Ting for this phone. Will let you know if this is successful.

Works great. Volume for a senior better than other flip ...
Bought for my mother who is 84. Works great. Volume for a senior better than other flip phones we tried. Easy to use and larger font where needed. Setup was easy too. She had a small Sim card so I bought Slimdevil sim card adapter on Amazon.com which allowed the card to fit snuggly in place without worries about it slipping around and the phone not properly working. Mom's happy with this phone.Note I was already familiar with this phone cause previously ATT no longer offered 2G service and went to 3G service in our area. At that time they gave this phone to my sister to upgrade her to the 3G service. She too is happy with this phone.Yes would very much recommend this phone to anyone who wants a reliable, easy to setup and use, senior friendly flip phone. Hope they keep making them cause not everyone wants, needs, likes, or can afford a smartphone.

This is really a great little flip phone
This is really a great little flip phone. I wear hearing aids and the enhanced senior setting is perfect for me. I am able to hear the conversation loud and clear. It is a perfect phone for the hearing impaired. This phone is also compatible to the Consumer Cellular network. You can't go wrong with this phone and it is very reasonably priced.Revision: The phone worked great for 4 months. Last week it stopped receiving calls. I called LG and I was told to reset the phone, which I did. It crapped out again. I reset it again but I am afraid to use it. I'm afraid it will crap out again.

Great phone for seniors
Works well apart from it being unable to open (an audio file) a ringtone transferred from another phone via Bluetooth.

Old School Cell Phone!!! and that's all!!!
Perfect for those of us that are not very tech savvy or for those that just cant stand "smart phones" . Its a good size for my hand, but I'm a lady so that may make a difference...guys might find it a bit small. Pretty easy to navigate through the settings and I really like that it has a FM radio on board (you just need to use headphones...which act as an antenna otherwise the radio will not work). Please remember, this is not a smartphone...although you can do quite a bit with it, tech people will find this to be archaic and will probably not get much use out of it BUT if you're looking for a run of the mill old school cell phone...well, you found it.I made this purchase for my elderly Mother-in-Law...no way was she able to deal with todays cell phones, so this was perfect for her...well, now she's complaining that the screen is too small...but it's really not...she's just being bit&*y! But, I love her and will continue to find items on Amazon to her liking!!Good luck with the phone...if you buy it, that is!!!

Working Great!
I needed to replace a broken phone. Since we still had lots of TracFone minutes left we needed to put them onto another phone. I have always liked the LG brand since they have always been reliable for us.I had to make sure that the phone I got would take on TracFone service. I was told to get an Unlocked for Any GSM Carrier phone - also one with no contract. This phone was exactly what I was looking for! After receiving the phone I called Tracfone, and for .99 I bought their SIM card that is compatible with this phone. Once I got the new SIM card I called TracFone again and they took me through their “Bring your own phone” steps to get connected! Everything is up and running great now!As a side note, I do not endorse or promote TracFone. They are tedious to work with. They are always courteous and patient, but it’s always such a long long conversation to get things done.

Great battery, horrible phone
I've only ever had flip phones and needed one with a stronger battery. This one fit the bill as far as batteries, but had a number of annoying features that I wasn't able to correct. For example, every time the phone connected a call, it would vibrate and then allow you to speak. To read text messages, you could open one, but then had to start from scratch to see another one. Never figured out how to capitalize a word, although I'm sure it's there... just takes too long, too many button to press to find it. Try the Pantech Breeze II for $30— that's the best flip phone I've seen, but the battery is mediocre.
