This review is for the Hutsuls 3x9" wooden strop. It is used for fine edge polishing of your knives. It is a solid piece of ashwood covered on two sides with leather with one side being smooth and the other unfinished like a typical belt but thinner. I believe the leather will last a long time and if you did manage to wear it out its easy enough to get a piece of leather or old belt to replace it. The handle is comfortable to hold and the weight is nice though you'd use this on a flat surface so not really noticeable. The ash wood is sanded smooth, but otherwise appears unfinished so I may get some stain for it as it's pretty plain looking. The package also included two small brick polishing compounds - standard green and a finer white which are applied to completely cover the leather. Quite a nice strop and I'm sure I will get many years of use with it.

This was my very first leather strop. It was a great buy good quality leather, double sided and a great size. Came with a white and green compound. This strop can really bring g back and edge. Not very difficult to use simple instructions, you get better with time using it. Very nice quality.
