Classic Auto Open Umbrella with Real Wooden Hook Handle

I really wanted an old fashioned umbrella I could use at Renaissance Fairs since I make items for sell there and participate. Also is to have the umbrella double down as a walking stick, cane etc. The curved wooden handle is excellent! having the “shaft” be wooden was not a consideration and it is fragile. I frankly assumed that you couldn’t put too much weight on it (I’m 6’1” tall and weigh 180 lbs. ) and my first shipment from the umbrella supplier arrived broken along the wooden (yes, the shaft is also wooden…a stained pine dowel I believe). So this umbrella is good to double as a cane. But the tip can slide out from under you or scratch a hardwood floor. Also it will not take the weight an actual walking stick/cane is designed for. This umbrella is clearly not new, there is a ton of wear to the umbrella handle. Extremely disappointed.

Honestly, I planned on removing the cover on this umbrella so that I could use it to make a crochet parasol. I'm still going to do that, but now I just feel so bad because I love it as is. It's so sturdy and it pops out so quick and effortlessly. I love the sturdiness of the entire thing, especially the handle. I wish I could give it an even higher rating than a 5.

Pretty, but one of the arms broke the first time i used it. It got caught on something and one of my kids was too impatient and pulled on it and snapped one of the elbow connections. I didn't want to waste the money I spent on it though, so I ended up using it for a craft project I've wanted to do instead.

I bought this as more of a prop than for actual use. I created an area in our entryway that has a bench and a mirror and it really needed something like an umbrella stand to complete it. So I bought this as the masculine umbrella and paired it with a Laura Ashley for the feminine umbrella. I was so very surprised to see the quality of this when it arrived. The box was pretty beat up, but when I opened it - it was in perfect condition. And….it really works. It is the old fashioned style with the u-shaped handle. It is made of wood and looks very high quality. And the button that you push to open it looks like a small gem. For the price, it is a real winner. Very happy with this and I do recommend it. I think you will be happy with your purchase if you do.

Used once, didn't last more than a few cursory breaths of wind before it bent and tore. Would not recommend.
