Good product. Beginner friendly
As a complete beginner, i think overall it is good, but instructions could be clearer. I was confused about the use of the white wool and used it all before I have any left for the eye (had to use my cat’s fur for the eye at the end).

Lovely little stocking filler sized kit.
This arrives in a nicely printed box measuring approx 11cm x 11cm x 3.5cm.It would be easy to wrap & make a brilliant small gift for anyone who loves to needle felt.I chose the mini kit to make a baby penguin.Inside the box you get 3 hanks of felting wool, an instruction leaflet & a small safety box containing 2 single felting needles without handles or a holder. To complete the project you really need a small felting mat as well.Personally I use handled needles as I have been felting for a few years, but you could complete the project without buying additional things as long as you had something to put under it.The felting mat just means you can't stab yourself or your worksurface if the needle goes through the work too far, so any piece of foam or a blanket folded over a few times to make a pad would do if you didn't have one.It needs to be something you don't mind poking a few holes in by accident. The instruction leaflet contains colour photos of each step & if you've never felted before it is a quick, easy & very satisfying craft even as a beginner. The baby penguin is a perfect beginner project as it is really straightforward with none of the more advanced techniques they could have used & it's pretty quick to complete. This is a fun little project that would take less than an afternoon to complete for an absolute beginner. At the end of it, you still have your penguin & your needles so it's a nice little taster kit if you are wondering if needle felting is for you.Felting needles are sharp so I wouldn't recommend this for young children. For everyone else, it's a lovely little kit.

The felt needle is missing in the pack
I was so disappointed when I open up the pack and find out that all the stuffs are ready but not the felting needle. I can't work on it any further without it.

Excellent beginners kit
I bought my daughter a felting kit when she was going stir-crazy isolating due to Covid and she really enjoyed it, so having never tried it before myself either, I was tempted by how cute this baby penguin looked. The kit is great for newbies with excellent colour illustrations in the instructions, a good sized foam block and ample wool which is soft and rustic! I hadn’t expected the needles to be so sharp, I think in my head I was expecting crochet needles but with hindsight, of course the needles are sharp- so not ideal for young children!I’m finding the process really relaxing and satisfying, and my penguin is almost finished now. Can’t wait to try another !!!

Cute kit
I am an absolute beginner when it comes to this craft and I have to admit that my penguin didn't turn out anywhere as nice as the pictures. That said, it is purely my fault, there is nothing wrong with the kit. Everything you need is provided apart, of course, for the talent to do the job!! Practice makes perfect though and I definitely want to try another kit soon. In the mean time my poor little squiffy penguin has pride of place amongst my stuffed toys and still looks adorable.

Box not complete
Unbelievable- bought as Christmas present - niece ready to make it and there was no black or white wool in the box. Really disappointed.

Beginners?
I would expect a beginners kit to come with everything you need to get started, including the foam block and a handle for the needle, and possibly even finger guards as beginners are more likely to injure themselves...it seems a little deceiving to say this is for beginners when it requires you to buy other things. The roving included is lovely quality but a shame it isn't wrapped in paper to protect it rather than simply stuffed in the box.The instructions are clear with illustrations and the pieces comes together well but I have to keep taking breaks because the needle is uncomfortable to hold without a handle and the hand starts to cramp very quickly.£12 at time of ordering. Good price for what's in the box but disappointed that for a beginners kit there are still accessories that need to be bought separately.
