“I think the smartest thing I did was record Around the World in a Day right after I finished Purple Rain. I didn’t wait to see what would happen with Purple Rain. That’s why the two albums sound completely different.” —Prince, 1985 In the mid-1980s Prince was moving at an unbelievably fast pace; recording sessions for the follow-up to Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, were already underway before the film had even opened in theaters, and the completed album was released just two weeks after Prince and his band completed their six-month Purple Rain Tour. Few albums showcase Prince’s fiercely independent taste quite like Around the World in a Day, which joyfully whisks his new fans in a dizzying array of sonic directions. Pulling in Middle Eastern instruments like the darbuka drum, finger cymbals and the lute-type guitar the oud, Prince and the Revolution weave a decidedly paisley tapestry of psychedelic, dreamy sounds. Review: Excellent LP - LP arrived well packaged, factory sealed and as described. Review: 150gm vinyl - Nice 150gm vinyl, sounds great, plays quite, no issues.

Solid Release for your Collection!
A very good album and it is nice to have everything bundled into one package. The packaging for the vinyl could be a little better - there is no booklet or linear notes and a single slot for three albums begging for an album to be warped (and one of mine was slightly warped yet played fine). There was no narrative included in the album giving the buyer context or even sharing the differences between this album and its original predecessor. The remixes for Pop Life and 4 the Tears in Your Eyes could be reduced by 1 and perhaps the estate could have added a cut or two not included or perhaps longer mixes of other cuts on the album. I would buy again though I am not convinced that these cuts are truly a significant upgrade from the original. The sound quality upgrade is negligible at best. If you have the original pressing, I would save the coins and just listen to the Apple or Spotify release for the bundling. If you don't have the original - buy this - it is a solid piece yet not as strong as the earlier SD sets.

Love Prince
After buying “Purple Rain” and other music by Prince, I decided to add this album. It is worth every penny

Love!
This was a nostalgia purchase for me. It's the music that started a life-long love affair with all things Prince. Highly recommend for fans of his later music... see what made my generation love and respect him!

Nice quality packaging & sound
I thought the sound quality was louder But when I compared to my friends original release, the sound quality is the same Bummer, they needed to remaster this instead of just reissuing it
