Summer Brain Quest: Between Grades K & 1 Review: Awesome workbook - I've done similar workbooks with my daughter but they get pretty boring and repetitive usually leaving the books unfinished. I found this one for my son and it's been such a hit! Some days we do 2 pages and some days he's wants to keep going and before you know it we've done 10-20 pages! It's really fun, very age appropriate and the lessons vary to keep things interesting. I love that they include outdoor games! And he loves the stickers and filling in the map (especially when he gets a "big sticker"!) And this is a kid who does OT for fine motor and isn't generally a fan of handwriting and drawing). We'll definitely be buying the 1st-2nd grade one for next summer Review: Fun and easy! - I bought Summer Brain Quest for my son who is heading into first grade, and it kept him engaged all summer. The short, fun pages cover grammar, math, and reading comprehension, with plenty of hands-on activities that make practice feel like a game. He stayed connected to school even while on vacation. Clear instructions, age-appropriate skills, and a great mix of review and new concepts. I highly recommend it—five stars!

HONEST REVIEW
This really is an excellent book. I just finished writing the review for 4&5th grade summer brain quest, check it out! As I said in my other review if your student doesn't have the support, instruction, correction or practice of sitting and doing coursework, no material will "make them want" to do it. This book however is extremely fun and as with my 4th grader my recently graduated kinder loves these activities. *his personality prefers little to no sitting at all! The pages are colorful and organized so you child won't get off track. They have bonus questions, a progress map with stickers your student places after completing the assignment. Easy page removal if wanted. The pages are on legal paper so they are a bit longer than standard printer paper. *just an idea, choose a fun reward for completing the book at the end of summer and hang the treasure map in there room or let them play with it outside when they complete it! When my kids complete the book I'm taking them to a frozen yogurt and they get to choose any toppings they want and a yogurt of any size. (My kids don't eat treats or junk food normally so this works for us as a reward). Have fun with these books and your student. ♡

Best summer review book!
These Brain Quest books are the absolute best thing to help prevent summer slide! They even get the child started on next year's learning, which can only be an advantage. My nephew was slightly behind at the end of Kindergarten, and I already feel like he has caught up to his peers, and we're only 3 weeks into summer. My hope is that we can give him just a little bit of a head start before heading into 1st grade, and I think this is the book to do that for him. I have seen other "summer bridge" learning books, but this one has an awesome motivational system. There is a map in the back, that looks almost like a board game, and every page the child finishes, they get a sticker to move along the path on their map. There are even pages that give 2 stickers, and bonus activities that give bonus stickers. Then the child earns a certificate at the end of the summer, which at least this kid is very motivated by. Hoping this is the answer to our problems!

Too easy but I don’t care.
Bottom line, these did not challenge my kids even a little bit but they enjoy doing them so much I don’t care. For the price, I would buy again simply to use them as a reward. I bought the K-1 book for my K going to 1st son. He pretty much hates anything that he is required to do school related. That being said, I have no problem getting him to do the activities in this book. He enjoys them and goes beyond the few I require each day. He won’t finish his book quite as fast as his sister, but the fact I don’t have to fight him and I can use this book as a reward after our reading practice makes it worth the purchase. I will also add this book is not that challenging for him, which is probably one of the reasons he enjoys it. I also bought the 1-2 for my 1st going to 2nd grade daughter. She finished 9 weeks of activity in nine days. She enjoys school and does well there but is also very self motivated. The activities in this book are engaging and fun and she enjoyed them so much she just kept going. But only one activity really presented a challenge to her and for that reason I knock off a star. I am going to get the second grade workbook just because she enjoyed the activities so much but I really hope it is more of a challenge.

Workbooks
Brain questioned summer books for my kids over the summer to help with the summer slide! Get them every year and tell my kids they need to do 5 pages each day before technology! Helps keep their minds thinking and ready for the next school year! It touches on all subject areas and is just a quick refresher to help prevent the summer slide!

Worth it.
Great review of material. It was a fun workbook to use with my child. The vibrant colors and pictures helped maintain engagement and make the activities fun. It gave him a great start for first grade.

My kid loves it and so do I!
My almost first-grader is loving this workbook, and for that, so am I! Such a great tool to refresh those skills over summer. It’s both engaging and rewarding for my little guy. I’ll definitely buy the 1-2nd grader book next summer, and it will be even better because then my kids will be able to read the directions on his own.

Although I like BrainQuest Activity books, this Summer Version is not worth the money!

We got this in October and my son has been asking to complete a few pages at a time. Even brought it along during an overseas trip. We are on target to complete this book before he starts primary 1. Sticker rewards are very motivating.

My 6 year old loves this series of activity books. We'd tried dozens previously which weren't nearly as fun or exciting. They're easy enough to keep up moment and excitement while challenging enough to keep up with school. This one has a fun treasure map with sticker rewards to track progress and special stickers for milestones and "bonus" activities. I highly recommend the summer edition. Studies show the biggest gap in school performance is between children who do educational activities during breaks and those who don't. These books are a little pricey but worth it if it supports overall education outcomes.
