What a great boot
I had worn my previous Karimoor walking boots into the ground and now was the time to replace them. I was just delving into my new foot are phase and diligently researched all types of walking boots/shoes, within my budget of course. I would read reviews and then check the price on some and think I could but a second hand runaround car for the same price as some of those shoes, you know the ones I'm talking about, the ones made of yak skin that have been made by wizards in DUMB's. So after doing my research I took a chance on the Merrell bad boys and am so pleased I made this choice. Sturdy, solid comfort, and they look great too. Only thing I would question is the waterproofness of them, maybe I need to dub them up, I'll try this and report back. Other than that I would say go for it, go for Merrell.

Great walking shoe
Used these for walking around in Japan. 20,000 steps a day with no rubbing or blisters. Very comfortable and a good fit.

Fits true-to-size, good ventilation, good all round summer shoe.
The Merrell Moab 3 is an excellent choice for anyone in need of a durable and comfortable walking shoe. The Vibram sole provides exceptional traction on a variety of terrains, making it a reliable option for both wet and dry conditions. The shoe offers great support, ensuring stability and comfort even on longer walks. It fits true-to-size, which eliminates the guesswork when ordering online. The relatively lightweight design is a plus, while it does offer support, it doesn’t feel overly bulky or cumbersome during use. Additionally, the shoe’s ventilation system does a great job of keeping feet cool, even in warmer weather. Overall, the Moab 3 is a solid investment for outdoor enthusiasts. With its combination of support, traction, and breathability, it’s a versatile shoe that delivers on performance and comfort. Highly recommended. I use it as my daily wear in the summer.

Fish : the moab 3.
I have in recent months bought merrell moab2 and moab3 ,(ventilated) walking shoes. They are both excellent, very comfortable and pretty hard wearing, and well made, the size uk9 has been spot on. Okay, now the which is better, this is quite an easy answer: its the merrell moab3, because it has a far better insole, it really does feel like ur wearing a very special pair of slippers, the heal fits better, there is a wider toe box, and the sole is more flexible. Merrell moab2, these have a harder wearing sole,(300mls to 350mls) compared to the moab3 (280mls to 320mls), moab2 is a tighter fit around the sides of the foot, slightly looser on the heal fit, and tighter on the toes ! The moab2 will last a little longer under average to heavy use ! But, the moab3 is just so wonderfully comfy from the first time u put them that a little bit less mileage ! Is not really a terrible thing . Both of these shoes are not very good on wet wooden surfaces such as decking or old wooden bridges, But ! Having owned various makes of walking shoe,(keen, salmon, merrell, and even nike) unless u are paying around £250/£300 ! No standard walking shoe is very good on “wet wood” , Excellent Shoes for less than £70, these are not the waterproof moab’s !

Great hiking shoes
These are my third pair of Merrell Moab hiking shoes and they are just as good as the previous pairs. Really comfortable from the moment you put them on, although I always buy a size up from my normal shoe size. Great over stony ground as the sole is really thick and forgiving and genuinely water proof in heavy rain. I would highly recommend

Comfy, actually look nice as far as boots go. Not too bulky
Bought these Merrell Moab GTX for my partner as a gift and they’ve been the perfect choice. The waterproofing holds up really well—even in heavy rain or muddy trails, feet stay dry without that sweaty, sealed-in feel. Style-wise, they look rugged but not bulky, and they work just as well for casual wear as they do on hikes. The build quality feels solid—stitching, materials, and grip all seem like they’ll last for a good while. For fit, I always go 0.5 up to give just enough room for thicker hiking socks. Comfortable out of the box, no real break-in needed. Great all-rounder for someone who wants performance without sacrificing comfort or looks. I bought myself a pair and my partner. Both LOVE them!!

600+ miles in...
I bought these shoes in preparation for walking the Camino Frances, 500 miles across Northern Spain. I saved the review until I was back - having walked the 500 miles, plus several long walks beforehand to get into shape; the total must be well over 600 miles. From the start I was impressed. My walking boots before had been 'proper' fell boots, heavy and leathery. These immediately felt light - little more than trainer weight - and comfortable; even on the first few miles I had no issues with rubbing or soreness. And hundreds of miles in I can say much the same. It would have been phenomenal if there had been no issues at all on the 500 mile trek; but I did have just a couple of small blisters and a problem with a toe caused by an adjacent nail. Most people I walked with at various stages were far worse off. I'm back now, and have just given the shoes a thorough clean; then I'll be using them again. They show signs of wear now, but are still serviceable, and I'd say they probably have another couple of hundred miles left in them.
