A fantastic device at a great price -- plug & play at it's best
This great little device was incredibly simple to use - literally plug-n-play. I had an HP laptop fail to power up after 8 years [imagine-an antique] and luckily I had always backed up on a Seagate external drive...that was also many years old. I fell into the bad habit of using the Seagate to access old stuff from the new Acer laptop....until the Seagate crashed. Unrecoverable. I still had the old HP and had the idea that the hard drive could still be good since the failure was a power issue. SO...I invested in this adapter and plugged in the old hard drive that I removed from the HP carcass. BNGO - everything was still there: all the documents, photos and other files that I was certain were lost forever. Now that old drive is backed up on a higher end SanDisk drive and a cloud backup is pending. This device comes with it's own power supply and brief instructions - which are all you need. Not everyone will have the same good fortune that I did, but for the price this adapter / reader was an incredible value.

Hard Drive Tool to connect to a new computer
We have in the office, some Windows 10 computers and for an old timeclock computer that uses Windows 98 because it only keeps track of time and still works perfectly. I was able to connect the old computer harddrive to this and with USB cord connected to my Windows 10 computer, was able to perfectly see everything on any of our old harddrives. I was able to back up files easily and this made it all very simple. I highly recommend this tool to connect old style harddrives to a new computer via USB and to easily access all the files on that drive.

Worked perfectly
I had some external hard drives that went bad and so I disassemble them and hooked them up to this connector and it was able to read all the data. I didnt want to spend much as I wont use it often, but for the price it worked perfect for my situation. Would recommend it to others if they needed one.

Worked Twice But Third Time Not So Much
I successfully used this first on an old drive from a 2001ish PC then on a different type hard drive from a 2006ish laptop then on an SSD drive from a 2013 laptop. So, two out of the three interfaces worked fine. Finally on the homestretch I plugged in the HDD drive from the same 2013 laptop (this was in the third, so far unused interface) and all I got was a chirp when I turn on the switch. Nothing shows up on the screenview of my files page. I switched it off, restarted my PC, changed USB ports, switched it on and got the same power-switch-chirp but nothing on the screen. I contacted the seller and asked for a replacement and was told to take photos of my setup, my device management and disc management screens as well as to try it on another computer/SATA drive (which I don't have) so they can consider if there is a problem. I say if I have successfully used it on two of the three connector interfaces it's pretty plain to me at least that the problem is with that third one. I asked for a replacement not a refund. I wouldn't advise anyone else to buy this thing. That's $30 down the drain.8/28/2021The seller got in touch with me and offered suggestions as to what to try to get my PC to copy over contents of my HDD. After going to the three websites they directed me to I pointed out that every one of them listed possible that a bad cable could be a reason for trouble. With the first adapter I was getting the Virtual Disk Manager message: The request failed due to a fatal device hardware error. With the replacement they sent I am told that the drive is uninitialized.I was still unable to read my HDD but I did very much appreciate the help and the replacement to try.

Great product to go through old hard drives.
I didn't have great expectations for this. I had several old IDE hard drives from my recently passed father in law to go through. This worked FANTASTICALLY. Quick to switch drives and works great with IDE and SATA drives. I am very happy!

Easy to use for retrieving files from internal hard drive
Works well for retrieving files from an old hard drive that wouldn’t boot to windows. Easy plug and play and drag over files from the user folder. Price is also very reasonable and half the cost of most other enclosures.

Great portable dock for IT professionals
I purchased the Unitek M.2 NVME SATA SSD Enclosure to clone an M2 SSD in a computer to a larger M2 SSD for an upgrade to the same HP Z2 G9 computer. The computer has a USB C 3.2 port matching the speed of Unitek. The drive just had a Windows 11 OS and HP's bloatware on the source drive totaling 72 GB. The clone took less than 3 minutes. When the Unitek doc is connected to a USB C 3.2 port it is supper fast compared to previous docks that I have owned.I am in the IT profession and frequently clone drives. The M2 drive fits tighly in the slot. I recommend this dock for IT professionals. I would not consider using the dock for long term use as an external drive since the drive could be broken while exposed. For quick, single use task such as a drive clone or data transfer, it is a great little dock.

Small, Inexpensive way to use all those old internal drives you were saving!
I'm completely happy with this little device. On my Windows 10 Pro mini PC I just plugged it into a USB 3.0 port and could access any SATA drive I tested, including the LG optical drive I bought it for. No software issues and fast performance.
