Defective lens cover
This camera is very flimsey. When inserting batteries one must be very careful with the lightweight latch.I think it could break very easily. My lens cover, at least the top half , has disappeared. It is just gone. I need my camera for an upcoming vacation or I would return it. The pictures are clear and crisp. I am not happy with how quickly the batteries are used up.

Quite a Value
The software would not install and the printed directions were virtually useless. I did a live chat with one of the Kodak customer service techs and we spent the better part of a very frustrating hour trying to download the necessary software. At one point I was about ready to give up and determined it would be better just to return the camera for a refund than to continue. But finally, everything fell in place. With the exception of the poor quality of pictures in low light ambiance, I am rather pleased with the results and I am glad I did not throw in the towel.BTW the product info published by Amazon should have advised that the camera came with only limited internal memory and that a card should be purchased. tsk! tsk! Amazon!

Great camera except for the battery replacements
The camera comes with a 3.1 volt battery. When you purchase a replacement rechargeable battery from anyone (even Kodak) it's a 2.7 volt battery which only lasts for a few photos before. it needs recharging. I have a newer Kodak and ran into the same situation again. The camera itself is great.

Kodak C143
Works good out of the box. I just started taking pictures and some came out great and some came out so-so. I'll have to read the online (on the Internet) manual to figure how to make all the pictures come out great. [Also, there is an extensive pdf manual that can be downloaded.] This is a great camera for the price. You can calculate the life of the 2 AA batteries by how many pictures you snap, not by how long they've been in the camera. The only con I can think of is that the lens will come out but will not always go back in when you turn the camera off. That makes it impossible to put it into the case that I bought.

Great value for money
I wanted a camera that was inexpensive and took good quality pictures without me putting much effort into the process since I'm not a professional photographer. I was very happy with the picture quality. Apart from that, the camera looks good, is easy to operate, has a nice clear "preview" screen and doesn't require any fancy software to upload pictures onto the computer. It does come with some fancy options (like direct upload to Facebook) but I'm not interested in those and cannot comment on how they work. I have not used the camera long enough to comment on battery consumption but you can always purchase a pair of Kodak rechargeable batteries with a re-charging unit for about $8 on Amazon.com. I'd also recommend buying a camera case (I bought a Kodak hardcover case specifically for this model for about $3 on Amazon.com which fits perfectly). Go here if you wish to buy the same: Kodak EVA Hard Camera Case (Compatible: C143, C183, C195, SPORT, M1093 IS, M340, M341, M380, M381, M522, M532, M552, M580, M590, M575, M550, M530, MINI, TOUCH) . Also purchase an external memory card (SD card) for use with the camera. The only noticeable flaw in my camera is that it makes a small continuous clicking noise when it's on. But I'm okay with that as long as it doesn't affect its operation.Verdict: Buy if you are looking for a good quality point-and-shoot camera at a competitive price.
