So far so good!
I am becoming more and more of a fan of electric power equipment. So far, this 16" bar chainsaw has been great and has been very effective in cutting up timber. I bought this saw more so to cut up limbs on my neighbor's property as she is an older woman. We just recently had a nasty storm move through and it knocked huge limbs down on her property. Largest limb was about 16" in diameter. Made sure the battery was fully charged (4.0Ah) and the bar oil was topped off. It did not have any trouble cutting through the wood. The only issue I ran into was the chain skipped off the bar but didn't break. For the most part, it was pretty easy getting the chain back on and I made sure that it was tight. All in all, it's nice not having to deal with 2-cycle gas, it's quieter, and cleaner (in terms of immediate air pollution). As long as you preplan to have more than one battery and they are charged up, this has been a nice replacement for a gas chainsaw. I just hope the longevity of the unit will be up there.

Surprise! It cuts just as good as Gas,and so much quieter.
OMG what a difference tech has made on tools. I have owned chainsaws. Switching to electric about five years ago, with my first being a B&D corded saw. Loud, but strong,it was a pain to have to plug it in everywhere,so I bought this. I already have EGO products and wanted to continue use of the batteries. I cannot tell you the simplicity of this product. Blade oil is easy to fill and see the level. Blade is super sharp and cuts with ease. The torque is immediate, unlike gas powered that has to rev up to get the right torque. Very pleased with this 16 inch chainsaw! EGO makes great stuff!

Great chain saw!
Just got this EGO chain saw, and I love it. I have had a Stihl gas model for decades, and although it has always worked well, I sometimes dread having to deal with the 2 cycle engine- hard to start, sometimes quits running and can't get it restarted. I researched different model cordless saws, and this model EGO sounded good. I don't have a lot of cordless power tools yet, and if I am buying into a specific companys 'family' to share batteries with various tools, seems EGO has one of the better reputations.I used the EGO saw this weekend to cut up a large pine tree which had broken off and fallen, and was surprised how well it worked on it. Almost seemed more powerful and efficient than my Stihl gas model, and I loved just having it stop in between cuts, and only running it when actually bucking the tree, vs the gas saw running (hopefully) constantly, with the noise and fumes. And when running, the EGO is so much quieter than the gas saw too. Nice! I'm definitely turning into a convert, to use cordless vs. gas engine tools after this. Very pleased with this saw.

This powerful tool converted a skeptic.
This is a serious tool. I use it several days in the field this past week and was thrilled with the power, performance and ease of use. It handled every task I needed it for. I was cutting through a mix of cherry, scrub, oak and pine and it never bogged or slowed.I now own the chainsaw, two trimmers and one of the hand held blowers. I am henceforth an EGO tool fanatic. They are very solidly made and capable of most any job I require them for.

EGO 16" cordless chainsaw is a winner so far
My Husqvarna gas 22" chainsaw finally died a slow death as I finally gave up trying to adjust it seasonally over the last few years. A 16" size electric (40cc equivalent) alternative was not my optimal choice. However, even the testing process went well. Happy. Limb and tree cutting of pine, juniper, and mountain mahogany is a seasonal necessity where I reside. It's not a pro saw requirement area, but a decent chainsaw precludes hiring the experts until it's a must. The battery charged quickly, and, after adding some bar oil to the reservoir, I was cutting through 4" limbs effortlessly. Then I switched over to an 8" tree. Easy! Finally, I proceeded to cut it into firewood lengths with no issue. Battery remained well charged throughout my 1/2 hour test.Obviously the chain is new, which helps in the process. And I know that the cost of the battery represented a good chunk of the purchase price. But there is much to be said about ease of use without the time consuming process of 50/1 gas/oil mixing, priming, choking, and chainsaw tightening/adjustments -- all associated with my "not ancient" gas chainsaw. The urge to get some work accomplished might perhaps NOT be dampened through the mental image of engine adjusting and pulling a starter cord.I still need to really put it through it's paces. Can it cut through a 12" tree easily? Does the oil keep the chain properly lubricated? Overheating? Durability? Battery efficiency?I hope to update, but so far, I'm a happy amateur.

My go-to chainsaw
I love this EGO battery chainsaw. I have used a gas chainsaw for over 40 years and still own one. But unless I'm going to cut for hours, the ease of use of this makes it my choice. No problems starting it like often happens with my gas saw and the battery lasts long enough for most tree cutting and trimming jobs.

A cutting we will go
I purchased this chain saw for my husband. Wondered if battery would be as good as gas. Very surprised does a wonderful job. He loves it. So nice not to pull a cord. More Han I thought. He hasn’t used his gas saw since I purchased this one. Great saw. Highly recommend

To hell & back!
I put this through hell! And it’s still running, as new! I’ve cut down dozens of tree’s averaging a foot in diameter. Mostly pines, but a few hickory and oaks. I bought an aftermarket battery and several chains. Remember your chain oil! This baby uses it up. Looks like I’ll need a new bar soon? But that’s to be expected. Great saw, great price. Don’t hesitate.
