The easiest installation
I've never installed a hard drive in a case before so I just unpacked it to look and figure it out, but after 2 minutes the drive was installed almost without me noticing it. The instruction is a little picture printed on the side of the package. It's literally impossible to install the drive wrong, you just put it in the box where it fits and that's all, no tools needed. The only thing you may do wrong is to pick the wrong size of the foam frame, there are two of them and they have different thickness for two sizes of hard drives. I tried the thicker one first and made sure I can snap the lock on the lid before I glued the foam to the inside of the lid. The drive is recognised by my computer and the data copying is fast. I didn't drop it or splashed water on it (and I will try not to), but it looks sturdy and waterproof enough to survive minor accidents.

Best HDD case I’ve ever used
I’m really excited that a company finally made an easy to install, inexpensive, sturdy SATA external case for 2.5” drives. I bought one to use with an internal drive to backup my laptop boot drive, and I’m so pleased. I could’ve installed the drive into this case in my sleep. I plan to buy a couple more for future endeavors.

Robust and performant
Great performance and nice build quality. I use this on client work sites and it hasn't broken yet. It can be a little tricky to get drives out but that's the trade-off for being heavy duty and weatherproof. If I were to buy this again, I'd see if there is a USB-C version available, just to carry one less cable, though.

Nice item good price, do not sign up for Amazon Visa
Easy to use works good. Do not sign up for Amazon Visa. They don't tell you about the 25% plus interest they're going to screw you with. Shame on you Amazon for offering me this garbage to your loyal customer that you have now lost.

Worth the money.
So I bought the more popular Sabrent. Little did I know how much I would hate it. Ordered this returned the other. This took moments to get the drive in. Plugged in worked instantly. I would like an aluminum case for something that would be running hard, but in most cases this case is just the ticket. In the questions someone asked about heat. Well it is sealed for dust and water. That's to protect it from elements really. Great to carry around. I would buy this case over and over again. The lid is hinged and opens like the plastic clear utility cases you buy in the sporting goods or tool departments. In other words one latch and it's open. Since the drive fits snugly you can open the case and leave the top open to disperse heat. However under normal situations it should not get any hotter than it would all sealed inside a laptop. The laptop mostly cools the processor. If you are going to do some intense workout such as doind a DOT 7 pass wipe, it could get. Just open the lid and let it run. So yes I will buy this again. Now let's say you have a newer PC and have limited USB 3 ports but have plenty USB C. Well there are adapters you can buy cheap to change the USB 3 to USB C cable right here in Amazon. Reality is, if you have the newer machines , you should already have purchased some of those adapters anyway.

very solid case
if you need to make yourself an external 2.5" hard drive from a old laptop hard-drive, this is the enclosure for you. Or, if you want to make yourself a new Solid State external hard drive without paying the high prices, this enclosure is for you. it worked out great. the drive fit perfectly and connected to my PCs flawlessly. my only complaint, which isn't with the enclosure itself is that it doesn't fit into those standard 'cases' used for normal external 2.5" hard drives. this encloser is too big to put in those small fabric cases. No bother. i just used the box it came in to store it. i build 2 with 1TB SSD and it was fantastic. Highly recommend them.

Very nice case, short cord
Best part of this case is my Xbox Serie X recognized it and formatted the drive. With the sabrent case I had before the console would not recognize it. Add to that this case has much nice construction and this one is a no-brainer. The only con so far is the short cord. Hopefully how well sealed the case is it doesn't lead to any issues with the ssd overheating when transferring 50GB plus game files. If it does, I'll make an update to this review.

Everything about this case is working properly and well, except that the hard drive sleep timer is very short. The latter causes lags when watching movies directly from the drive, or reading any other media content. Otherwise, totally worth the value!

Clearly a good offering from ADATA. Build quality is robust which should take drops and shocks well. Installing the drive is easy too. The ports feels a bit finicky but should last. The cable that comes along with it is a bit short and stiff so it’s adds a little strain on the HDD port. I use it for my SATA HDD, not an SSD, so speeds are what’s expected from such. I think it’s well priced. I see much reviews saying how expensive it is. You can’t be a cheapskate for good stuff. So.....
