Not perfect, but for the price pretty good
I got two of these, one to monitor a fridge and one a freezer. Some observations:-The interior and probe temperature are the same or very close when both the device and probe is in close proximity, so that's a good sign-When the probes of both units are put into the same area, the read very close or the same, so that's also good-There are complaints about the magnets not being strong enough. I'd say it's not that the magnets aren't strong enough, but rather the issue is the magnets are recessed behind a plastic ring and so the magnets don't directly contact the mounting surface. To fix this, I cut a rectangle out of a grippy material (like a disposable glove) and put it between the meter and the fridge surface. Stays put now.-The setpoints for the alarms must be based on Celsius because in Fahrenheit, the alarm setpoints are adjustable in increments of 1.8F. Weird, but for an alarm it's ok. Someone said you have to remove the battery to change a temperature that was set incorrectly but that's not true. I have changed the alarm temperature simply by going through the same steps in the instructions.-Some have complained about how complex it is to configure. I gave it to my 10 year old and he figured it out. I also don't believe it to be overly complex.-The beeper is not real loud, but it's sufficient. Maybe about like the volume of a countdown timer.

Very non-intuitive settings
This product works, BUT, the settings and names that they use are very hard to understand. For example, they call the temperature probe that will be placed in your fridge/freezer as OUT. The external display is called IN. So strange to name them that way. Another odd one is the way you have to set the min/max temperatures. It takes some playing around with and KEEP THOSE INSTRUCTIONS! But at the end of the day this device does work so I’m giving it 4 stars, the deduction is purely for the interface/settings.I will update this review if the unit ever fails.

Perfect!
All the features I wanted! Has accurate temp readings for inside and outside the freezer and has four loud beeps each minute when the temp exceeds my setting. I have six freezers and I bought one monitor to try it out… bought 5 more a couple weeks later !

Not sure it works... Update - It does! :) ... or not... :/
This thermometer is easy enough to set up, but it's not intuitive. Don't lose the instructions! As far as operation, I don't think it actually works. I am using it to monitor the temperature on my heated sun porch where I keep my plants. I want to know if something happens and my heater stops working. I check it several times a day and find that it always says the temperature on the sun porch is 57.4 degrees, and the temperature inside is 63. 5 degrees. Meanwhile, my old fashioned thermometers on the sun porch range between 60 degrees at night and 75 or 80 degrees in the daytime, and my indoor temperature fluctuates depending on a variety of factors. I don't know if this thermometer will let me know if the temperature on the sun porch drops below 50 because it doesn't seem to know.2-13-2021 The temperature did drop to 50 a couple of hours ago and the alarm sounded several times loudly enough to hear. :)2-16-2021 Today was a bright, sunshiny day, so I was surprised to hear the alarm go off in the middle of the afternoon. I checked the temp on the indoor gauge, and it said the temp on the sun porch was 49F. I stepped onto the sun porch and found that the actual temp was a little over 90F. Now (several hours later) the actual temp is 65F, but the gauge still registers 49F; however, it is not sounding the alarm, which is set to go off at 50F.

can be reversed for near freezing notification.
Product works well - alarm is too quiet. Set up, could be better. Looking back I wish it was on 2 AA batteries and a louder alarm. But it fits my needs to prevent or address a freezing condition on a water tank.

The Alarm quits on its own after 4 or 5 beeps. DO NOT BUY!
If I could give a negative number for the rating I would. I read the reviews regarding the difficulty to set the temperature but also read a top review that stated those reviews were not accurate and to do this step and that and your alarm would work. NONSENSE! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PROGRAM TEMPERATURE SETTINGS. Furthermore, I forgot to remove the battery before leaving my garage area where the freezer is located to walk into my house. Obviously, my house is warmer than the factory settings on this device, thus causing the alarm to go off. It gave off 4 or 5 tiny beeps and then STOPPEDbeeping on its on. What the heck? If i didn't happen to have it in my hand or have been standing by my freezer waiting for it to break, I would have never heard it. I want a fog horn to go off and not stop until I disalarm it! If you keep a well stocked freezer do not waste your money on this. Returning this item immediately.

Good "freezer too warm" alarm
Accurate and works well. I use it on my freezer in case the door does not shut completely. I like the alarm is not constant or too loud. Loud enough that I can hear it in the kitchen thru the closed door to the basement where the freezer is, but not load enough to make me want to run down to turn it off. Also it's a series of four beeps. It does three sets of those and then stays silent for about a minute before starting again. Currently I just have the cord running past the gasket on the hinge side of the door but the probe is small enough to fit thru a 1/4 inch hole, so At some point I will drill a hole to run it thru the actual door and seal it with some silicone.
