My new favourite brewer. Great build quality and really lets you play around to find your own sweet spot. Delivery and packaging were also good. Deducting one star simply because of the high price but couldn't find the 03 size anywhere else, so this is the best deal currently.

Man hat die volle Kontrolle über Brühzeit und Flow-Rate, was eine unfassbare Bandbreite an Aromen erlaubt – von fruchtig-hell bis schokoladig-tief. Die Verarbeitung ist wie von Hario gewohnt auf Top-Niveau: Der Glaskörper ist hochwertig, das Ventil funktioniert zuverlässig und lässt sich leicht reinigen. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass ich sowohl klassische Filtermethoden als auch immersion-basierte Techniken nutzen kann – ein Werkzeug, das kreativen Spielraum eröffnet und jeden Morgen zum Mini-Ritual macht. ☕ Mein Daily Brew – Rezept vom Barista-Profi (angepasst für V60 Switch 03): • 30 g Kaffeemehl (z. B. Honduras 18 Conejo oder Ethiopia Guji, medium-light roast) • 500 g Wasser (ca. 94 °C) • Comandante Mahlgrad: ca. 18 Klicks (mittelfein) • Blooming: 60 g Wasser, 30 Sekunden • Komplett aufgießen auf 500 g • Switch geschlossen halten für 2:30 Minuten, dann öffnen • Durchlaufzeit: ca. 3:30–4:00 Minuten Ergebnis: Kräftige Süße, klar definierte Aromen, kein Overextraction – einfach perfekt. Ein Must-have für Kaffeeliebhaber, die Präzision und Flexibilität suchen. Ich möchte den Hario Switch nicht mehr missen – er hat meine Kaffee-Routine nicht nur verbessert, sondern auf ein neues Level gehoben.

I bought the glass Hario 03 size Switch to replace the Bonavita Ceramic Immersion Dripper, which I had recently broken after 8 years of service. The Switch has smaller total capacity than the Bonavita, which could take up to 500ml at the absolute maximum. However, due to the ease of switching from open-valve to closed-valve in the Switch, I can very easily do half immersion / half pour-over, and get a 500ml or larger serve very easily. The Switch looks better built than the Bonavita, less fragile, the base is made of silicone (and therefore soft), and is easier to travel with. The silicone base comes off the cone too, so if I ever break the glass V60 I can simply replace it with another of my choice - plastic, glass, metal, or ceramic. When you switch from immersion to an open valve, the Switch drains very quickly. It takes regular V60 papers because it is quite literally a V60. You can use the smaller 02 papers if you only make smaller coffees. It's been a pleasure to use so far, and I love that I can use it as both a straight V60 or an immersion/combo brewer. Great stuff!
