Fast paced, tight writing of the kind of adventure story I like
I am a sucker for action space stories and even though they all tend to follow a certain pattern, I find them incredibly entertaining and have for 50 years. This series is so absorbing I can hardly put it down, I've read 5 books in 3 days and I need to pause so I can get some work done. Like all good Sci fi, it takes me to another universe and I like the solid, moral characters in this series who are sharing an amazing adventure with me.

enjoyable book
This was my favorite book in the series so far. It had a nice combination of action and drama. I look forward to reading the next one.

Great Hard Sci-FI
Privateers is a good read with well-developed characters and an entertaining story line. It is the first series that I have read in a very long time that had well developed foundational science on which the rest of the story framework is based. The use of AI, smart fabric, and Internet of things, was very well integrated into the story and extended into the future. The only nits I have to pick with the series are the improbable interrelationships between some of the characters, the illogical expansion from the Milky Way to the Dwingeloo galaxy, which is 10 million light-year away from Earth. There are many other choices much closer, such as Andromeda, at 2.5 million. Additionally, it is unlikely that the 100 to 400 billion stars within the Milky Way could have been explored. One last nick pick, was the reference to the Marny Bertrand, a former Marine, who is referred to as a Master Chief, which is a Navy rank. The correct rank for a Marine E9 would be Master Gunnery Sergeant, or Gunny.

Can't wait for more
This is a great continuation of the previous books. I loved every moment of it and found it almost impossible to put the book down even knowing I have to get up early in the morning to go to work. The characters are great, the pace is perfect and the story is exciting and suspenseful. This book even has a proper ending :).If you haven't read the previous two parts of this storyline (books 2 and 4 are side stories and are not required for the main story line) you will want to read those first. They are worth reading and you will want as much of this story as you can get anyway.I am looking forward to see what kind of trouble will the Loose Nuts get themselves into next time.

these are all fun reads
If you’re looking for distopian, noire science fiction - look elsewhere. All of these stories (so far) are filed with old fashioned good good guys and baaad bad guys with a few in-between characters to add some leavening. No nasty language and only the barest hint of sex. Your kids could read these with enjoyment. Good on you mr. McFarlane!

Speed or Weapons
Liam and the crew of Loose Nuts are in a bind. Their beloved cutter is barely more than scrap after their last tangle with pirates. To put their letter of marque back in action, they'll need a new ship. The age old smugglers question, do you want to be fast, or be able to bring decisive firepower. You can't have both. An ancient British blockade runner, may be just the ticket. The pirates have plans of their own, and they include more than an annoying band of privateers. They plan to take out the Mars navy fleet, and Liam's girlfriend is in it. Loose Nuts is, once again, squarely in the middle of the approaching doom. They need every trick they can muster to win this battle, and it may mean trusting someone who wants Liam dead.Number six in Jamie McFarlane's Rookie Privateer series, brings more of what we love. Lots of action and space battles. Way back in book one, the relationship between Liam and Tabby is set up, and we haven't seen the two get together much. This book changes all that. Tabby rejoins our fearless pirate fighters and is a welcome addition to the team. Three cheers for our rookie privateers!

Pirates
I'm enjoying this series immensely! Regular, everyday kids stepping up to fight pirates that attacked their home base in the asteroids, they've come a long way! Two ships later, & studying to become a master pilot to operate the tug they acquired along the way, they take down the pirates in a final battle. THEN to negotiate with Mars Protectorate & the Navy!Coming home to their family all waiting with a huge picnic spread, it's time for a break.I can't wait to see what they're off to next!I am so happy that the author sent me the first book in the series, Rookie Privateer, to get me started on this series!

Great setup and amazing action!
Really enjoyed this latest chapter in the annals of Liam and his crew. The setup is really well done and the pace of the book keeps you glued to the book right up until the final scene!

FITTING FINALE?
Rollicking take with more twists and turns than Hampton Court maze. Well characterised, beautifully plotted, modern John Dory; guaranteed to catch you up in its sinuous coils. More?

He does it again
Yet again I find myself writing in praise of this awesome writer. A hero more upright than even I imagined as he passes the ultimate chick test and comes up trumps in keeper qualities. I so love all the characters and great to have one of my faves come back, and the whole gang together at the end. Love it love it love it. Did I mention I'm a fan? Now I have another wizard fantasy waiting for me so can't stay longer... but I will just say this, go down the Jamie McFarlane road and you won't regret it.
