Great little unit - easy to set up
Great little UPS unit for those who want 'simplicity' in set up and operation and which provides more than enough time for a controlled shut down of your PC (or whatever). The well-packaged UPS unit received the day after ordering. The smart black UPS unit is well constructed (both inside and out) and not very heavy. Needs to sit on a hard floor or board or desk (not carpet). Just plug the UPS into the mains, press the button to get a green light and leave to charge for 4 hours. Then plug your computer/screen into the the 2 sockets on the back of the UPS and that's it, done! I tested the UPS by simulating a power cut and the UPS operated my PC/large screen for 15 minutes before rapid bleeping from the UPS indicated the battery was running out, so I reinstated the mains power. No problems with the UPS during switchover. Suggest downloading the full Users Manual from the web as the brief Quick Guide provided is too brief! Tried to register Guarantee on Technoware website but failed, but I'm not too bothered as it's well made.

Honestly this is not good.
Ok so it looks nice, it does indeed keep the power on when the mains goes off. There its usefulness ends.Lets start with Documentation - there isn't any! There's a quick start guide with a link to the full guide, which as it happens is exactly the same quickstart guide. Which tells you - wait for it - to plug it in and plug your computer into it. Zero mention of the USB port to tell the computer when it's switched to battery, no mention of how any software works. Nothing it literally tells you how to plug in power plugs - how did I manage my life without this information?Ok so maybe the Software is ok right? well they tell you in the box to download the UPSilon2000 software and provide yet another dead link that leads nowhere. Ok so you go to their website, you find the exact model you bought, in my case the UPS ERA Plus 1200, and it takes you to a software download...for something called Tecnomanager. You install it and it doesn't work, now this might be because my PC simply couldn't find the device when it was plugged in - there was no device detected sounds or indications at all.So I tried my laptop, oh interesting I got a windows has found a device sound, for an unidentified universal controller, again the software does nothing, it doesn't connect, it doesn't find the device and there is not even a user manual for the software! So I figure hey plug the Qnap NAS into it, mhmm interesting, go to plugged in external devices guess what - there is no device detected! So my PC and NAS won't detect it, my laptop detects it as an unidentified universal controller and does nothing. To make matters worse you're going to have no idea if you are supposed to use the UPSilon2000 or the Tecnomanager software for the purpose of troubleshooting (if by this point you still have the will to live) because the box and the product website both suggest the opposite to each other! So in short it's going back to amazon sadly, the PC doesn't detect it, the laptop detects sopmething but it has no idea what and who knows what or where the software is.

OK but POE is not Gigabit, 100Mb only
Works well, provided power for my router and POE Fibre modem for a couple of hours, downside is that the POE Ethernet is only 100Mb, it will not run a Gigabit speed.Get VERY hot when used with the POE output

Works straight out of the box.
I was a bit wary of buying this at first, because of the price, but it is surprisingly good. Using to power up a WeeDo - Tina 2 basic printer & accessories. When our power supply gets a bit blippy the printer spits it's dummy out, thus losing the whole print, also does this when plugging / unplugging something as mundane as a phone charger. It worked straight out of the box, is very compact, quiet and only slightly warm in use. I've even unplugged the unit whilst printing and the printer never missed a beat. Within the first hour of use it detected and prevented three transient voltages on the incoming mains, so very pleased with it. And the most important feature is it's value for money. Overall a good bit of kit.

Seems to work well at a very good price!
Using to ensure my very fussy Sky Q box doesn't restart every time a sparrow lands on the electric cable somewhere between me and the grid. So far so good including recent hiccups in power supply following Derragh. Now added my fibre modem and main router. Works as advertised. Literally "plug 'n' play". Hopefully internal lead acid battery will last 5 years (as a previous computer UPS did). Nothing fancy, just a stabilised and back-up power supply for electronics that does the job. Not thickest plastic but more than robust enough for household use. Great value for money.

Battery failed after just over 12 months, No warranty outside of EU...
Worked perfectly until it didn't.Battery failed, contacted the manufacturer who were very clear they only provided the extended warranty for EU customers even though that's not made clear at purchase. Told to do a DIY battery replacement, and on opening up the device the battery terminals and cabling were heavily corroded (+ve terminal corroded through).I'll stick to other brands with a UK warranty in future.

Really good UPS, highly recommend.
Bought this for my fiber modem and router. My only problem is that the double output lead is very short, so I had to buy an extension cable to plug both devices in. (I bought a CASPERi 5M CCTV 2.1 x 5.5mm cable for this.)We've just endured a few days with intermittent power after an underground cable shorted on our street, so this was the perfect time for a test. When the power went out, the UPS took over without any loss of supply to the devices. 3hrs later when the power came back on, the UPS was still showing 3/4 battery capacity. It's small footprint and ease of use make this a great UPS.
