Sailor Jentle Black Ink Cartridge

I normally don't use water soluble ink, but I decided to keep it in one of my fude pens (the green one), as I have the blue one and a much heavier Duke that I use with converters. Didn't want to confuse another bottle of black ink, so I went with cartridges. These are pretty big compared to several others I've used, and the ink flows well. They're a good price, and function well with the smoothness of line I like with a fuse pen, and dries pretty fast. It also works well for creating a wash with my water brush after the ink dries.

The Sailor Jentle Red Ink Cartridges deliver the rich, elegant color and smooth flow you’d expect from Sailor. Bought these cartridges to go in a vintage Sailor pocket style pen and they work great. The ink is high quality, flows well, and produces a medium-dark black line on the paper. Dry time is about average compared to my other fountain pen inks (mostly Diamine, Robert Oster, and Iroshizuku).

I recently began using a Sailor fountain pen that was a gift from my mother-in-law back in the early 1980's. The pen is beautiful and feels wonderful in the hand, but I was never able to use it because I did not know where to find ink cartridges for it. Fast forward to today and finding the cartridges on the internet was easy. They were shipped quickly and I was finally able to use this pen for the first time. I have used other fountain pens, some wrote well enough while others weren't worth the effort. If you like using a fountain pen, the Jentle Ink from Sailor combined with the beautiful pen they produced are a wonderful experience. I am also using the same ink in bulk form, refilling the cartridges and the quality is the same in both bulk and cartridge form...high. If you have a Sailor brand fountain pen, these cartridges are a fine choice to write with.
