A roller-coaster ride with one of the 20th Century's greatest entertainers
An absolutely absorbing biography from someone who knew Piaf well and who writes a warts and all account of a star who burned so brightly and who had an Oyster card for her many trips to Hell and back! Some question the accuracy and authenticity of Simone Berteaut's account, but it is highly readable even in translation and there are emotional highs and lows. Buy it, vous ne regretterez rien.

Good value.
Good value.Not too sure whether the writer is totally honest other Piaf biographers have discredited this book but there is a lot of accuracy and is fascinating reading.

What I expcected
The book itself is exactly what I wanted, the scores of her great songs. Also has a very good biography of her life. My copy was very worn - but obviously well used!
