It’s like a new machine!!!
I called the seller and asked about the process of replacing the wear ring and impeller and it’s not a super easy process, but they were very helpful. If you aren’t very handy and have a lot of patience this might not be something you want to tackle on your own…I searched online for a how-to video and found one that showed the process and that was crucial. Getting the pump removed from the Waverunner took me about 2 hours, and it went back together much easier. Remember to buy some anti-seize compound for the new impeller as well!The results were AMAZING! I took it to the lake yesterday and it LEPT out of the water like it did. When it was brand new!!! The top end speed on the GPS was 59MPH, that’s with me (I’m a big guy) and a full tank of gas. I could see if hitting 60-61 with less gas or a lighter rider. I was only getting 53 before I swapped out the impeller and the wear ring.I’m so happy with the return to its original performance and probably BETTER performance than this 2004 FX HO Cruiser ever had!!
