I think this packing is thicker than some standard packing.
Bought some rocketry stuff for my great nephews and nieces. The Rocket I bought stated to use 3 pieces of wadding when packing the rocket. I only used two pieces of packing to get everything to fit. Parachute popped fine, no burning on anything, seems to work well. Only launched the rocket two times at a cost of like 12 dollars per launch. But now that I have everything for it can drive the cost down to like 6 or 7 bucks a launch. The motors are really the major expense once you get going.

You need this to launch a model rocket. You might as well get some good stuff.
This is really good rocket wadding. It wads up well and unless you have a rocket with a huge tube diameter (like the Estes Big Bertha or Saturn V models) 3 pieces is enough to protect your parachuted. It's thick material and holds up very well.I highly recommend this for all model rockets.

A little thick
Had to separate the layers. Thicker than the tissue like normal stuff but worked just fine

This Wadding Worked!
I put on a Rocket Launch for the young adults, and grandkids. They never saw a rocket launch before. Anyway I put together 3 Estes Rockets. To save a dollar I bought this larger pack of Recovery Waddings. These worked perfect on each launch! My rockets are in perfect condition for more launches. These work on Estes Rockets.

Too thick of material
I tried to use this several times. The wadding is too thick and can be problematic. I had to cut it down & even then would not pop chute do to wadding not expelling with 2nd stage. Had to purchase a new chute due to chute not coming out of rocket.
