A Good Villain Story
- bland, uninspiring backstory and motivation for a fairly major player of chaos. Very uninspired, should have been less focus on these two items and should have simply embraced how corrupted and evil Huron is.+ enjoyable pantheon of side characters- too short to really get to the meat of characters and events, but Mike Brooks does shorter stories better than most, this is more a personal bias+ Well written action+ Details of Huron's warp powers+ Unique, beautiful locations and settings

Enjoyable
Quick and Interesting read, Huron is painted as such an interesting character, reminds me of ADB's NLLooking forward to more!

Disappointing and frustrating
A good chunk of the book is written in present tense, which I tend to dislike. Additionally Huron is written as annoyingly reasonable and rational, despite being the Tyrant of Badab. There’s also a lot of “tell, don’t show” and generally talks down to the reader and assumes they’re not very bright, going so far as to explain jokes. This is a really disappointing book, and there’s a kernel of something that could have been good in the hands of another writer. Huron is far from the comfort ground of someone who is best writing low level thugs or Orks and it shows.

Best character in Warhammer40k!!
I have been into Warhammer for at least 8 months or more, I really love the characters, the universe and there's SO much more to learn! HURON BLACKHEART is by far my most favorite! He's powerful, he's feared and respected by his underlings! I only knew about him through YouTube and I want to know more about him, and so far the book is really teaching me who he is! Best book I bought so far. Highly recommend to anyone who's into Warhammer 40k and the Damned traitor legions.

Generally underwhelming
The characters are unlikable, Huron a character who's overall concept is interesting is boring and unlikeable even by Chaos standards. The plot is dull and I believe it suffers from being too short, as things just kind of happen without the reader really seeing them happen. We only get told it did.To it's credit, the book has a few good moments, however not good enough to save it.

Not bad, not great
The storyline is pretty bland, with no real character exploration or development.
