A useful piece of device
I received the pulse oximeter quite rapidly after ordering, thanks very much to Amazon Prime!I've always wanted to keep one for home use in cases of emergencies, although it's only intended for use by clinical professionals, I have no problems with this (I am an allied health professional and I have been trained to use this). I thought having this at home is a very good idea, particularly at this moment when coronavirus pandemic is on the loose and we need to ensure that my family’s oxygen saturation is >94% for adequate oxygenation. If and only if, with the unfortunate chance of acquiring the virus, at least then, we are prepared and able to determine when to ask for help, if the oxygen saturation falls below the recommended values.Additionally, I have immediate family members with asthma condition and suffer from chest infection quite easily, particularly during cold weather and rainy season. This very small device will be a very useful tool in assessing any emergency situation during an asthma attack. It can help provide reassurance or peace of mind that an asthma attack is either under control or otherwise an emergency situation and that it can be a prompt that it is time for us to ring 999 and get help. It is safe for me to say, that we can use the emergency service when absolutely necessary, and therefore contribute to cutting the cost for the NHS and provide their services to other people who actually need them. Not only saving them money but also saving the NHS time and effort.Another use for this little piece of device, for me, is a bit personal. As a mother, I wanted to be fit and healthy so I am able to live as long as I can. Watch my children grow, watch them reach for their dreams, and be happy and successful with their lives. Most importantly, I will be around to provide them with guidance and support when they needed them. For those important reasons mentioned above, I religiously exercise six times a week for at least half an hour. When I mean exercise, I mean vigorous exercise and henceforth, I get really out of breath, with my heart beating really really fast. Because of this, I tend to have a panic attack and get really nervous, which exacerbate the situation even more. When I got this device, I used it to check on my pulse rate, heart rate, and most importantly, the oxygen saturation, to determine as to whether I am still within my limitations and it is still safe for me to carry on exercising. This device gives me the reassurance and calmed me down, that I shouldn’t panic. Essentially, this device kept me exercising safely. Even if I keep on digging deeper and pushing myself to the limits, at least, I am still within my limits with this little device.I've also thought of getting a smart wrist-watch that has the ability to measure oxygen saturation and pulse rate. But these so-called smartwatches can be expensive and most are not very well rated. I have also read on reviews that these watches are not very accurate and therefore misleading. The Renpho pulse oximeter is quite affordable and works pretty well I believe. It's actually too easy to use. In the pack, you have the oximeter itself, a user guide, lanyard (which is a bonus and I thought very sweet), and 2 AAA batteries. The manual covers quite a lot of information, including the technical specifications, troubleshooting, and etc. The device itself is very well built and comes in white colour with an OLED display, which I find very appealingly neat. Although, it would be good to have a variety of colours. There isn't much to do in terms of operating the device. It has one single button which you press to bring it out of sleep mode and to begin measuring your pulse. The user interface has two colours; yellow and green, which go quite well. The display is quite readable, very understandable and very easy on the eye. The simple display simply shows the Sp02 reading, the battery level, pulse rate value, PI%, pulse rate bar graph, and the heart rate that looks like beating, and tells you if you're dead or alive. To use it, simply insert your index finger into it, and press the button. It should then start doing its thing. I believe any size of the finger should fit. I didn't have varying finger sizes at my disposal to test this. Sorry. It takes about a second to start reading. When done, simply remove your finger, and the device then goes into sleep mode after eight seconds. If your finger is left in, the device continues to read and beep. Not an annoying beep I should add, but a calm reassuring beep. The only down-side using this device is the lack of guidance on the PI% in the manual. You will have to search google what a PI% is. And also, you, unfortunately, cannot pair it with your mobile device. It would be nice to have this kind of feature. I thought it has this Bluetooth feature when you can record the data in my mobile device. If this was a smartwatch, it would be an expensive one. For the price, it's very affordable and good to have as part of the first aid kit or in the pocket when exercising. This is another quality addition to my Renpho kit collection. To summarise, it’s super easy to use. Pop in the batteries (which is included!), put it on your finger and press the button. You don’t even need to turn it off. Remove your finger and it does that for you. You can also see your pulse rate value which is also helpful. It comes with a lanyard, which is threaded through the holes on one of the corners and overall, it’s an awesome thing to have tucked away for when you need it.If you haven’t heard of the make Renpho before, don’t let that put you off. I’ve got their weighing scales too which come with an app and connects to my phone, to track your weight and both have been flawless. My confidence is high in the brand and in this little oximeter.

Easy to use and great device
This is a great device for keeping a check on your blood oxygen levels and heart rate. I was interested to know how effective my workouts were and this oximeter gives clear, fast and accurate readings. My brother tried it and it matched the readings on his rather expensive Garmin smart watch. I was very impressed watching it change in line with the Garmin at almost exactly the same second. This has given me confidence in the readings and would therefore recommend it.It is quite hilly where I live and I now know for sure how my brisk walk uphill is really giving me a very vigorous workout. When I get back indoors after the walk I keep it on my finger for a few minutes and watch how my heart rate comes down as the oximeter will keep updating until you take it off.I can also confirm that it does alert you when your heart rate goes over 120. The low and maximum limits are preset and apply to your resting heart rate.A quick search online and I worked out the recommended bands I need to be in for moderate exercise and for vigorous exercise. This is calculated as a percentage from your maximum heart rate (220 - your age). Knowing these figures and using the oximeter means I can compare my results after using my rowing machine, brisk walking etc. I'm happy using the oximeter as I personally didn't want the whole smartwatch constant monitoring approach so suits my needs perfectly.

Reliable Pulse Oximeter
I never previously considered getting one but I’ve loved having it and especially as it is easy to use!!Amazingly it has registered the difference between me with no breathing impediments and my husband with mild asthma - I get readings of 99-100% whereas he is down at 94-96% I am now fascinated at how easily I’ve incorporated this Renpho pulse oximeter with my other fitness tech! I have a few underlying medical conditions and I was advised that it would be useful to have one of these. I now totally agree and carry it when I am exercising as it is such a great small size. The product is supplied with batteries which is a bonus as you can get it out of the box and start immediately. The product is accurate as I have compared its reading with those of another meter given to me by a GP. They were spot on. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this product for ease of use, Renpho product reliability (I have other products that are of equally high quality) and fitness for purpose. The only negative thing is that I found it really fiddly to attach the carrying loop. If that came pre-attached or the loop hole was bigger, this would have been a 5 star!
