Unbelievable value & very well presented
This comes so beautifully packaged - I have bought a couple for my own kids and it occupied them for much longer than anticipated- they really wanted to find every single item. They were very happy with the pretty glass stones ‘gems’ and shells that are the treasures they have to find and free. They would take breaks and come back to it each day with so much excitement and enthusiasm.I’ve bought more as gifts (the packing is very good quality and giftable) since and their friends have also loved them. Also a few of the schools mums asked for the link to buy it and have since said their kids love it.Nothing in the shops or online I’ve found as good value as this set.It is a little messy with the dust as they dig away but it’s easy to just Hoover up and left absolutely no marks to anything from clothing to fabric chairs and wood items. Very easy to clean up unlike some kids things that leave evidence of their play! The tools supplied were surprisingly durable and lasted the whole way through, expectedly do get more blunt towards the end of the ‘dig’. Also the tools are strong plastic & we had only one I caught my finger incident - for us that’s a big plus my youngest is only 4! Great half term holiday occupier.

Brilliant 🤩
I just want to start by saying that I never write reviews but because there’s the odd review putting this product in a bad light I thought I’d say my bit.My daughter LOVED this!!!! (And my husband for that matter 🤣)For the money I thought it was really good value and she loved everything that came out of it. I don’t know what people expect (gold perhaps? 🤷🏻♀️) but I thought the gems and shells inside were great!I definitely will be ordering this for every birthday party we get invited to because I felt it was a great messy play and I think most kids would love this (if not all!!!).The only thing I can think that could put you off is if you’re buying this for a much older child. I’d say from 8 onwards this might not be as great but my husband is 32 and he loved it just as much so who knows 😂Will be ordering this again thank you so much

Great activity but messy
This arrived in a lovely box with a bow, with no real indication of what was inside. It was a present for my 8 year old daughter and she loved unwrapping it to see what it contained. Behind a nicely printed sheet of parchment paper was a clear film wrapped block of plaster, and some tools. The hammer and chisel are made of a soft plastic and so actually bend if you apply any pressure, which makes the task of excavating a little more difficult. It also comes with a handy spray bottle to fill with water so that you can soften the plaster.Let me make it clear, this thing is messy! I placed it onto a dinner tray and basically left my daughter to it, and when I came back 30 minutes later i was astonished at the mess. You are essentially creating a fine powder through sawing and scrapping away the layers of plaster. Add water into the mix and you end up with a paste similar to pottery slip. The whole table, chair, floor and her clothes were covered in white smudges. Over the course of the dig, my daughter also got some grit in her eyes a total of 2 times, so maybe wear safety goggles before use. In terms of what was 'excavated', we ended up with about 12 gems and 4 shells. Some of the gems were really nice in size, about 1 inch round, and there was a nice variety of colours and patterns. The shells were also a nice touch and really made it felt like you were digging up fossils. Overall, it was a fun task that kept my daughter busy for the best part of an hour, and now she has some lovely 'gems' that she treasures, but might be ideally suited as an outdoor summer job due to the extreme mess caused.

Worth it!
I bought this as a gift for my 6 year old nephew and my goodness! Honestly I thought it would be fun but you would find the gems and shells quite quickly having had similar things before. It wasn't the case there was loads of gems and shells inside and kept them happy for ages. Very impressed so worth the money and was packaged really nicely. Very happy and will purchase again or another one of the kits.

Decent for what my nephew wanted at the time
Not the best quality but my nephew loved it for a few uses! After that it lost its fun for the kids. I don’t think it made much mess.

NOT AS DESCRIBED
Do not buy! Says it's gems, but it's just coloured glass and shells. I have 1 very disappointed son, as he searched for each gem to look in his Gem book to find it was ALL coloured glass!!
