Interesting characters and world building
This is a novella that is the first entry into a new series by Glynn Stewart. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant before reading it as it’s totally different from his other series of books (plus I’ve never been much into westerns). I’m glad I read it. It is totally different but is interesting in the way he builds the world and the characters. I enjoyed the book and will purchase the next one.

Western with a little magic...
As with many of Glynn Stewart's works, this is (the first chapter of) a charming coming of age tale. Set in not quite the wild wild west, just as the Ranger's Apprentice isn't quite the height of medieval Europe. Fascinating central and supporting characters making understandable blunders and of course our MC Teer is also special in ways he is only gradually realising under pressure. Adult content is referred to but occurs off page.

I am really suprised that the book is so good, i finished reading it in one setting. When i saw who's book this was no thinking just bought it and read immediately. And i was not disappointed. Love it and will recommend it to all who would listen. Thankyee sir. Unto the next book.

Awesomeness
Another great Glynn Stewart novel with a new world and great characters. I love the western/fantasy mash up. My only problem was it ended too soon! Vastly enjoyable and I look forward to the next one.

Fantastic read
Aliens, cowboys and magic, a wonderful book, fascinating strong characters, solid plot, plenty of mysteries foreshadowed for later stories which I hope will come along soon. Stewart has solid credentials in military scifi, this is a step up in my opinion, as he focuses on softer worldbuilding and character development. Highly recommended.
