I've used another version of this egg 'timer' and always had perfectly cooked eggs (hardboiled!). This particular Egg Timer needs another ten to thirty seconds after the last bit goes white. Otherwise, the center of the egg looks somewhat uncooked. It's not runny or gooey, but there's a definite lack of 'doneness' that's a bit off-putting. If you purchase this for making hardboiled eggs, experiment to see if you need to add a few more seconds after the maximum white-out.

This does not work. Couple people have tried it and it just smells like plastic while it's boiling and it doesn't work. The eggs were still raw

I realize it's inexpensive, but this literally stopped working and fell apart at the seam. I had one (don't remember what brand) before this that lasted a decade. This one lasted only a year or so.

I was not sure if this even work but i had to test it oit i put 5 eggs in water and put the timer inside with the eggs.. normally i would just time it on the clock but this i didnt so periodically checked on the eggs and the timer at first it didnt ch age then the next time i looked it was at the medium stage the hard boil stage so i left came back to check on them again at this time the timer was approaching the hard boil stage so i left it alone went back afew minutes later and it showed it was at hard boil i left the eggs to boil a minute or so more then i decided to check the eggs and to see if this timer does what it is suppose to do..to my surprise they were done and at the hard boil stage.. I do recommend this product in my opinion I think it took less time to boil the eggs
