Really good techniques and exercises that can be used regularly
This book is in two parts. The first relates stories and also the theory behind changing behaviours and why negative thinking can be influenced throughout our lives and why it is important but also how it can be a problem in certain situations. The second part relates to exercises to help eliminate negative emotions when they start to become a problem with every day life. The book has become a manual for me.

This is a fascinating read
There is a lot of information in this book and it covers not only the suggested solutions of which there are many but it also the causes to help self identify negative thinking. It also covers imposter syndrome and how to deal with it. It is real eye opener. The book explains how people go about creating negative thoughts and why as humans we are wired for this and how to fix it. Some of the scientific experiments were fascinating. The audio downloads and sheets that come with the book are a useful addition. A very informative and interesting read with real practical solutions that are based on scientific research. I would recommend this to other readers.

A must have for anyone who needs help with presenting!
This book and the bonus content have helped more than I could have ever wished for! I’ve repeated several chapters to make sure I’ve got the techniques mastered and will still dip back in for a refresher every so often.I can’t recommend this book enough! It’s helped me deal with my pre-presentation anxiety by giving some very powerful techniques for controlling my state. I am now a much more confident presenter and am getting better and better and controlling my nerves before I start

practical, accessible and it works
My original review gif the written version is below and still stands. I have to add that the narrator’s voice is very relaxing, clear and a wonderful listen. And in listening, I did pick up more. His knowledge on the brain, and behaviourism, as well as the softer sciences is really impressive. This book is very informative and useful. In part one the author explains the science and why our minds work they way they do in terms of negative thinking. It part two he outlays a variety of strategies to counteract and change your thoughts. I have worked through this book and tried all the exercises. Some were familiar, but I have learned some surprising and effective new techniques I had never heard of that were perfect for me. My partner had a chronic illness that is triggered by stress, and he is now reading this book, interestingly he is having success with a different technique.I like that the ideas are simply presented and clearly explained. The free audio downloads included are powerful tools, and I am now on my tenth night of using them. The author has a very soothing voice. I didn’t set out to improve my sleep patterns specifically, but this has certainly been a welcome side effect!Highly recommended.

Info and a Roadmap to Success all in one!
This book has a lot of gems! I learned an immense amount of information about the brain, how it is connected to the nervous system and why I think the way I think. My husband and I read this together on a road trip and we found it interesting to learn that I 100% have imposter syndrome and he is an overthinker! Thankfully, now we have a great roadmap of how we can manage our thoughts and keep our out of control brains IN control. A few key takeaways for me: writing things down gives us structure and can trigger the brain to look for solutions & most importantly, NLP is my new best friend. Much of this book resonated with me and I’m convinced that I am the only one who can alter my thoughts, there is no quick fix but there are easy fixes, as long as you can be consistent. The best part is that there are many strategies here so something for everyone!
