Noise when turned on/off
Sound quality is good. It is good to use the low tone to clearly hear the mid and high tones. When there is no sound, there will be a lot of noise, so use a line noise filter.Depending on the position of the equalizer knob and the slide type volume knob, both could come close to each other, making it difficult to use.I think it would have been better if the front and rear surfaces were a little more organized. It seems that there is no protection circuit. When the power is turned on and off, and the DC offset shifts, it results in the speaker cone to move a few millimeters and causes noise. It is better to avoid connecting speakers with a low input capacity. The orginal purpose of this AMP is to be directly connected to the turntable, and certainly the AMP's compact size is perfect for it. However, as an amplifier, the usage is not particularly limited to it. So if you want an amplifier with a small size and reasonable power, it is a good choice.

Excellent sound quality, surprisingly generous number of leads supplied
Used this primarily for feeding audio from my TV to a set of speakers but it has the capability to do much more. It’s nice and compact but produces a very clean, quiet sound with crisp top end and a nice deep bass. Basic 3 band EQ – nothing fancy but does the job well. I was pleasantly surprised to find an array of audio leads and some nice quality speaker cables in the box. Much more than expected as its often the case with this type of equipment that you receive a power cable and that’s it.Has a mini-jack send/return loop for effects units which, again, isn’t always a feature on many amps.Whilst using, the amp provided more than enough volume and I also tested a turntable through it, connecting the ground and the sound was clean with no hum or buzz. The only very minor issue I could find was that, because the unit is so compact, when sliding the master volume I actually moved the whole unit – there are adhesive pads included to protect the bottom of the unit from scratching but this, if anything, increases the movement of the unit when sliding the master volume. You really need to hold with unit with one hand and slide the master volume with the other to stop it sliding around.

Tiny power amplifier
This little amplifier is quite charming in a way, it is very very small and would serve a purpose for a few little jobs I get involved in as a drop and go power amplifier, for example I sometimes set up museum exhibits that need audio, this is ideal to go inside the exhibit.I use it often as a headphone amplifier, then send the output out via the send socket, this sends a flat clean signal to a PA system and allows me to adjust EQ and volume on my headphones without affecting the PA sound, a nice touch.(Send is Pre-EQ)The Treble knob was on mute loose and it looked like a bodge with a bit of tape has been done to try and fix it, tut tut.The audio amplifier is quite clean to certain levels then will start to distort if driven hard, this is certainly an amplifier more suited for MOR & Classical than hard rock n roll music.

Good quality dinky amplifier
Great for connecting my turntable to a pair of high quality non-powered speakers. Brings the turntable back to life!Take care not to connect the speaker outlets to the turntable - unusually, the speaker outputs are RCA sockets, just like the phono... - blasting high power into a tiny MM cartridge is not going to do it much good.it's so tiny the volume control - a slider - fouls the other controls if you have large fingers like me. But I can get used to it, works with care. There's a breakout in case you want to add in some effects. It's strictly a one job device - there is no switch between inputs (unlike HiFi systems with switches for tape, CD, phono etc).Neat and tidy, looks good, sounds great, has a phono input and a mid-tone control too. Just right for driving speakers from a turntable without fuss.
