Ignore negative reviews prior to December 2017
Amazon needs to take down older reviews as they don’t accurately reflect the current product.Initial impressions: Before purchasing, I was well aware of a little hurdle I needed to jump over by my making sure I updated latest firmware in order to insure optimal performance for Xbox one users.Upon receiving and unboxing, It was nice to see a sticker on the outside of the box indicating to update the headset before using, as all users might not be aware of this important step. All you need to do is visit turtlebeach.com/audiohub from Mac or pc and follow all on screen instructions. Once the headset was updated, it was time to pair it with the XboxPairing was easy. Just press Xbox sync button and then press and hold headset sync button. This can also be done in the other order as well. It quickly and automatically identified itself on Xbox dashboard with a nice notification “headset connected”Adjusting audio and chat was easy. There are two volume potentiometers on the left earcup and they are easy to access and adjust without looking. One is a chat volume and the other is master volume. Adjust to your liking.Boom mic features are awesome. When you move the boom mic From chat position to recessed position you get an auditory confirmation with a little non abrasive beep beep. The microphone provides a very clear high quality voice for people that are in your party or whoever you game with. Even higher quality than the official Xbox one stereo headset.Headset speaker sound quality for in game has gone beyond my expectations. It more than satisfies my needs for gaming. Supports windows sonic and Dolby Atmos for simulated surround sound. (I’ve only tested on Windows sonic) I intend to test out regular stereo because I believe you will get a higher quality sound with that setting. (Changing audio modes is done within Xbox one audio settings menu)Pairing Bluetooth with phone was a breeze and automatically reconnects every time you turn on the headset. It truly is such a nice feature.Advantages: Listen to any audio source from phone. You can adjust the volume of phone audio from the phone. All with the push of the Bluetooth button, You can receive and answer phone calls, activate voice recognition, send texts, ask Siri what the weather will be like tomorrow, pause music, fast forward, rewind etc Additionally when the phone rings, a built in ringtone sounds in the headset. If you decide to answer the call, press the Bluetooth button and the headset becomes a private phone call and you can no longer chat with your friends on Xbox live. You can still hear your friends and In game audio does continue to work, they just can’t hear you until you hang up or end the call.At first, when I played music from Apple Music, I was somewhat disappointed by the quality of sound that the headset was providing. I then decided to tinker with audio presets made available on the App Store audio hub app. I boosted treble and bass and found the music got much more full sounding. I also think super human hearing mode might’ve been on. Not positive though.Haven’t tested superhuman hearing yet. Seems like it’s just another audio preset ready to use at the press of a button on your headset. All other audio presets can be adjusted via the audio hub app.Battery life: supposedly 10 hours. Charges with micro usb. I haven’t gamed for ten hours ever but I’m sure it will withstand lengthy gaming sessions with ease. Battery life seems generous but as an extra measure I always plug my headsets, phones, controllers or any other battery operated device to ensure they’re always topped off for the next time I go to use them.Comfort level. These aren’t like a lazy boyFor your ears or anything but they’re comfortable. I have a pretty decently sized dome and they are slightly snug. Not too tight that they’ll give you a headache not too loose that they’ll fall off and break. Kinda like Goldilocks, just right. I do feel like my ears just about fit inside the cups so people with larger external pinnae aka ears might find these uncomfortable. As a reference, they Xbox stereo headset offers a bit more room and, Provides a bit more comfort. Also when you’re not gaming and need to take a break you can turn each cup 90 degrees and rest them around your neck as the cups rest on your upper chest.Turtle beach really packed in a bunch to this headset. It’s impressive. If you’re considering the 600 vs 700, I’d say spring for the 700 and enjoy the Bluetooth integration and all the great features that come along with it.Overall very nice headset.I was not given this headset for free or anything this is an honest review of a product I purchased with my cash money. However if amazon wants me to provide honest reviews of any products theyd like me to thoroughly test, I would be more than happy to accept any offers.

We were so close. SO CLOSE to perfect!
First things first. Plug these into a computer and UPDATE the firmware. Okay, let's go from there. These are comfortable, at least for the first 3 to 4 hours and probably longer for most. I have a bigish head (hat size 7 1/2)and these are pretty nice. There's plenty of room for an even bigger head and they spread out nicely too. They'll fit around a gallon sized paint can, lol! As you pull them farther apart they don't get, like, super tight. They stay loose(ish). Well, not loose. It's just that they don't pinch the head. Plenty of cushion for the top of your head, too. These are the MOST convenient gaming headphones I've EVER used.Because these have an internal, rechargeable battery, there are NO CORDS whatsoever. NONE. Completely wireless! You can just grab your headphones, power them on and chat and play. Nuthin' gets plugged into nuthin'! I LOVE THAT. If you forget to charge the battery when it's low you CAN definitely play while charging and in that case there would be a wire. But only then. I usually plug them in, every other gaming session, when I'm done for the night and let them charge. They're micro USB. I also have not had any connection issues to the XBOX whatsoever.I haven't tried using the Bluetooth feature yet. Mainly because when I'm gaming a couple times a week at night the only people that would call me are already online with me. The chat volume and game volume work well independently of each other. In other turtle beach's if I turned up the game the chat would get louder too and vice versa but seemingly not with these. The superhuman feature does seem to work pretty well. In the predator mission in Wildlands I could totally hear where on the map the predator was and that's fun.You mute the mic, so nobody can hear you, by flipping it up. My friends can hear when I mute it, too though. If you wanted total privacy when muting just be aware that apparently there's a little noise of some kind and they would know they were being muted. So far everything seems pretty great. Why 3 stars? Here's my main problem and it bugs me EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE these. It's the mic or maybe the mic monitoring. The microphone activates when you start to talk, otherwise it's, kinda like, in an off position. I think it might be noise canceling for the people online with me? Anyway, every time I start to talk, and the mic "activates" or "comes on" there is a noticeable delay before I hear myself in the headphones and it is ABSOLUTELY annoying. I hear myself "in the room" probably 2 or 3 tenths of a second before I hear myself in the headphones. Once I'm into the sentence I'm speaking they're fine (actually I'd like to be able to hear myself as loud as I hear my teammates but that's never been the case with Turtle Beach) and when I'm done speaking I don't notice the mic "shut off" so to speak. But, soon as I say something else there's that delay AGAIN. GRRRRR.I used to have the X32 from TB and those were glorious. The mic thing that I'm talking about didn't exist. It was just always on. Never a lag or delay.I hope I've been clear with what my problem is. It's hard to explain by writing about it, you almost have to use them in person to know what I mean. It's a really big deal for me and that's why 3 stars. There's so much to like about these, that's why not less than 3 stars.I would say that if these didn't have the mic issue (for me) they would be THE BEST Gaming headset I've ever used and 5 STARS ALL DAY.If my problem with them doesn't, or wouldn't, bother you I'd say buy these immediately!P.S. The charging cable included with these is the coolest little micro USB I've ever seen. It's contoured to your fingers to more easily pull it out of the headset. I love it.UPDATE!!:Wait a minute! WAIT A MINUTE!!!! I posted this review and 10 minutes later I decided to read the top review for this headset (by J Dog) and he FIXED MY PROBLEM! You go into the Stealth 700 settings when plugged into your computer after downloading the software and follow J Dog's settings guide. Basically, all I had to do was turn OFF the mic gate setting. NO MORE DELAY.Wow. Ok, so now I stand by what I said at the end of this review. This is the best gaming headset I've ever owned. LOVE THEM now!!THANK YOU J Dog!!This is a link to his review.
