If you just have to have a GMRS handheld, it's an awesome choice.
I mostly use my radios while driving in some remote places with friends. A recent fad seems to be to skip the hassle of studying for a ham license, and going with GMRS radios; after several trips with GMRS-only people, I decided to have one in the vehicle, just in case.Ended up buying two of them - and these are far better than the early Baofeng ham handheld. Easy to set up, work well, good sound and decent range with provided longer whip antennas.

Perfect for truck group trail runs
The media could not be loaded. This radio is perfect for our truck club's group trail runs. Its ability to effortlessly switch between two channels for main traffic and side chats makes communication a breeze. Not to mention, its robust build quality means it can handle being tossed around, dropped, and thrown. It feels reminiscent of the old mil spec radios from back in the day—solid and reliable. Plus, the green color adds a nice touch! I recommend this radio to anyone looking to purchase one for group runs.BUT... WARNING... I must issue a warning based on my own experience: my first purchase of this radio was defective, as the TX (transmit) function didn't work at all. It was incredibly disappointing to discover this during my first trail run. Despite reaching out to BAOFENG for assistance, they were unable to help me since I had purchased it from a third-party Amazon dealer. Thankfully, I was still within the return window for Amazon, so I returned it and purchased two more radios (an excuse for me to buy two, really). So, test it early! Despite this, I still recommend this radio. Just don't let the return window close before giving it a good test. The good news is that both of the replacement radios worked perfectly fine. Now, with the second radio, I regularly lend it out to people on our group runs who either don't have communication devices or have forgotten theirs. Being able to provide support to others in this way brings me a great sense of satisfaction. Overall, despite the initial hiccup, this radio has proven to be an invaluable asset to our group outings.

Great entry GMRS Radio but do your homework!
Really like the price point and features of this radio. Weather channels and FM radio are a nice touch. Probably more technical capabilities than I will ever use but nice to have them. Also looks like a number of accessories are readily available. Takes a little bit of work to get up and running. You will need to get a GMRS license for US use (no test but there is a small FCC fee for a 10 year license). Finding Programming software was a bit of a hunt but lots of YouTube videos for that and other helpful hints. Got connected to local Repeater group so that has been lots of fun.

The Baifeng!!
Very good radio I have a few, it is nicely built and well made. Please remember getting one, it’s fun to have, be responsible you will need to get a license other operation of the radio. It can be used as a walkie talkie. But you must be careful. The radio is a real serious radio. PLEASE BE CAREFUL USING IT !!. Thanks

Not bad
I have used Kenwood and a lot of different radios. However I really don't know much about them.I have a good bit of experience using them however. This radio has all the TX and rx I need.As far as range goes about a mile is all I need.It does that with no problem. And sounds great doing it.As far as programming goes it has all I need at this time preprogrammed in the box. However I have looked into it.This radio has no programming cable with it so I bought one for possible future use.It cost 14 dollars. It is not chirp supported and beofang doesn't have much on it.I understand the Radioddity GM 30 software works fine. I changed to a Nayoga 771g antenna and get much better rx now. Radio sounds great and am told it TX as loud and strong. As far as I'm concerned for a 28 dollar radio it is fantastic. The Kenwood radios I used at work all those years are probably much better radios as should be at 300 dollars apiece. But from my perspective its hard to tell. If you are like me and just need a reliable shot range radio this is perfect. The way I understand it there is no need for a license if you stay on FRS frequencies.

PESIMO!!
Viene preprogramado, pero no te permite programarlo, transmitir es una pesadilla aunque si recibe , se supone que debería enlazarse a repetidoras y no lo hace. La programacion con CHIRP no es posible y en las caracteristicas dice que si.
