2021 release. Developed after being apart for much of the year, Private Space is creatively explosive and delights in upending expectations. It's 10 tracks are both an escapist fantasy and a much-needed recentering after a tumultuous 2020. Throughout, The Indications highlight a collective resiliency - as well as the power of a good song to be a light in the darkness. Anchored by a crate-digging sensibility and the high-low harmonies of Aaron Frazer and Durand Jones, Private Space shows The Indications' mastery at melding revival sounds with a modern attitude. From an Indiana basement (where the band recorded their 2016 self-titled debut LP as college students), The Indications have catapulted into the soul limelight and onto an international stage. Following their sophomore album American Love Call - a dreamy but pensive record of big string arrangements and sweet soul stylings - The Indications became revered by vintage music fans, the lowrider community and late-night television. Durand Jones & The Indications have long provided the soulful soundtrack for such deep thoughts, both on stage and on your turntable. But as the world slowly resets from the chaos of the past year, Durand Jones & The Indications' Private Space is arriving at just the right time. "I feel we'll be arriving into people's lives as they're exiting a really tough period," Aaron Frazer theorizes. "We're not out of the woods, but hopefully this allows people to get together again, to share and experience catharsis."

Vinyl sounds really good.
The music it self is groovy, funky, and fun. Modern but a throwback to old soul and funky RnB.

Beautiful follow-up to the great American Love Call
American Love Call was a perfect Album. Private Space is more perfect, If such a thing is even possible. After a lengthy and momentous two year wait, this new, eagerly anticipated album was desperately needed to help clear out these chaos induced blues and retrieve some of the simple joys of beautifully written and performed soul music as played on 45s and LPs circa 1964-1966.This is beautiful, uplifting music as I remember it from all those years ago. The vocals by Durand Jones and Aaron Frazer are a gift from harmony heaven, the back-up vocals add sublime layers of texture, and the many added instrumentalists make this record a soulful symphony. Every song is something to treasure and meant to fill the void created by perilous times. Let them in by all means. This is a great album!

GET INTO IT!!!
I'm ashamed to say I'm just discovering this band, but this record is SOLID GOLD from start to finish. Aaron's falsetto is a dream and if you're into 70's disco soul this will feel like a record you didn't know existed. It's hard to believe this wasn't cut in 1977, the production is so smooth and well done. Look forward to exploring their catalog!

Real Music for Good Times!
'Joy will set us free' is the refrain on the opening track Love Will Work It Out of this, their 3rd album. After the enforced hiatus of 2020, it sounds as though they were having the time of their lives back in the studio. Drawing more from a 70s/80s soul vibe, there is disco, orchestration, backing singers (love it!) and quite an ensemble of additional musicians.Vocals are of course shared between Durand Jones (lower register) and Aaron Frazer (higher) which allows the different styles of music to be perfectly realised. It has seemed a long time to wait from 2019's 'American Love Call' but the wait was worthwhile, and of course we were treated to some single releases in the intervening period, 'Cruisin' to the Parque' has to be one of the best summer songs ever...Could it be better? Well, a 10 track album is perhaps unusual these days and an extra couple of tracks would have been most welcome. I just hope they can get over here soon & we can see them live! Now that would be some party!

"Ride or die", "Sea of love" und "I can see" gefallen mir ebenfalls sehr gut.
