Awesome first trail cam
I purchased 4 of the moultrie edge and 4 of three 10w solar panels to monitor my hunting grounds before deer season starts. I've never used a trail cam before mainly because it would be at least a 3 hours round trip for me to get memory cards/pictures. These cell trail cams are perfect. I have learned a ton about what's in my woods and where and when deer are moving. I love simply refreshing the app and seeing any new pics. Even more fun when I am refreshing every couple minutes watching deer at that very moment. I'm also excited for when hunting season starts and I can monitor deer moving around me on the property. How cool is that? LIVE ACTION!So far everything has worked flawlessly for me. I've enjoyed these so much I purchased 2 more yesterday. I definitely recommend them!

If you are having an issue and think your camera is BRICKED READ MY POST!
I wanted to share my experience with everyone because I found nothing on the internet about this but it is clearly a thing. I have bought 10 of these cameras and I could not figure out why 5 of them were all doing the EXACT same thing right out of the box. Little did I know, its probably a software bug and I just didn't do the same thing when I activated the other 5 cameras. Here is what my problem was...After I purchased the camera plan while adding the camera,**** I chose the option to have Photo+Video.****I then turned the camera on for the first time as the directions said. The camer boots, connects and then takes a software/firmware update. The camera then reboots and connects. The app even shows it checked in perfectly fine. The next thing that happens is the camer goes into useable mode and when it sees movement turns the video on. The IFR lights come on and the green light comes on like its taking a video. The problem is, the video camera never stops and it never uploads the video. It doesnt matter how many times you turn it off and back on, it just continues to happen until the batteries are dead which is very fast considering the camera is permanently on.After a bunch of trial and error i discovered what snaps the camera out of it.1. Turn Camera off.2. Go into the camera settings on the app.3. Change the setting to Photo only. NOT PHOTO+VIDEO4. Turn camera back on.5. Do something in front of the camera and wait for it to show up on the gallery in the app.6. At this point once you have gotten your first photo upload, you can switch it back to PHOTO+VIDEO and BOOM....it works. This solution fixed all 5 of my cameras that I thought were not uploading or bricked.Moultrie, Please research this and share this information with your customers. There is a lot of people saying they had bricked cameras and I bet this is why!Overall, the camera is amazing for its price. I got 6 cameras for the price of 1 of the newer fancy ones. They take great pictures. You just have to request the HD picture or video. They do make a click sound in the dark but i have never once seen an animal spook from it. 5 stars!!!

Reliable So Far
I got these on sale for a great price. I think around $80. It’s my first set of Moultrie and only have Tactacam to compare too. Overall they’ve been working very well. If I have a complaint, it’s that I’d like them to offer a more affordable monthly plan option. Tactacam cameras cost more up front but they offer $5/month plan which I appreciate. Other than that, I have no real complaints. They run well and batteries seem to last

Poor detection
I wanted to really like these cameras. Good price point, affordable plans for multiple cameras, etc. However the performance of these cameras are disappointing to say the least. The app and set up of the cameras is fast and easy, can’t complain there. Seems to connect much easier than my older Moultrie cell cam model. However, the problem lies with the detection capabilities. I bought 10 of these cameras to replace most of my standard SD card cameras and transition to primarily cell cams to avoid having to travel to multiple farms and climb hills every couple weeks, etc. the first couple weeks I loved these cameras. Like I mentioned, all of them connected and was sending pictures, what’s not to like? However, it wasn’t until I was hunting one morning and watched a couple does walk by my camera and realized later that day I never received a picture. I thought it might have been a fluke so over the next few days, I purposely walked in front of my cameras getting in and out of my stands. To my amazement, they rarely caught me walking in front of them, like literally maybe 30-40% of the time would I get a picture sent. Not only that, but had a few more deer walk in front of my cameras while hunting at some of my stands and didn’t get a picture. I’ve now realized (after unfortunately buying 10 of these) that these cameras simply do not detect everything that walks in front of them. With being nearly fully reliant on the intel trail cameras provide, I feel as though these cameras really hurt my hunting this season, as I truly don’t know how many deer these cameras could’ve missed between 10 cameras at various locations. I can’t recommend another brand of cell cam as opposed to Moultrie, as they’re the only brand I’ve tried, but I am very disappointed in these cameras and will look to sell these to start fresh with another brand, or stick to the tried-and-true SD cameras next season.
