Works great & easy to use. Detected small leak in a gas fireplace. Contractor required the gas utility to locate the leak prior to service—they did, using more sophisticated equipment & it was right where the PT199 had already alerted.

This is a nice size independent way to test for gas leaks. Purchased to carry in my campervan to test connections from my 10lb propane tank to gas stove and other appliances. I tested against my home cooking gas stove and it performs as expected. Nice insurance for on-spot testing at threads in addition to my cabin battery gas and CO monitor.

This detector is small, appears to be quality made, lightweight and sensitive. I was concerned about a circle on my lawn above a gas line, where grass would not grow. I bent down on multiple occasions never smelled natural gas. This device detected the gas within a few seconds and used both visual and audio alarm signals. It is a great value for the money.

It's easy to use and seems to work very well for my personal use. Since I have a gas stovetop and gas heating I wanted to keep one of these around in case there's a weird smell.

I was cleaning my basement when I caught a whiff of gas near furnace. I kinda thought I was imagining it, as I've lived here for 5 years. I thought, well there's a cabin monoxide detector, so that should go off of there's a problem, right? Wrong. Did a little Googling and found that methane detector (or specificly natural gas, not just CO) is a better way to confirm. Had this overnighted and started checking around the connections. Sure enough, it confirmed a leak. It responded very quickly on the more sensitive setting, but responded on the less sensitive as well once I knew where to place it. Called my awesome plumbing guy and he stopped in between calls to fix (being he didn't have to investigate, he knew it would a quick stop and he could squeeze me in). He did use soap just to confirm, and it took a bit to start showing up. He switched out the connection and sure enough, the old flare was horrible... was probably leaking to some extent the entire time I lived here. 🤨 Retested with this device and it was clear. Definitely worth having in your home, especially at such an affordable price point!

Premetto che ero molto scettico quando ho fatto l'ordine in quanto pensavo fosse la solita cinesata che non funziona, invece l'apparecchio si è dimostrato all'altezza del compito. Avevo una piccola perdita di gas GPL sulla conduttura esterna ( perdita appena percettibile ) ed, una volta fatta la calibrazione, appena mi sono avvicinato al punto critico, l'apparecchio ha rilevato subito il gas. Ho fatto altre prove simulando perdite di gas, e sono state sempre rilevate. Non è un apparecchio professionale, pertanto è da usare con cautela in ambienti in cui ci sia un probabile pericolo, nel qual caso bisogna sempre rivolgersi a personale qualificato. Personalmente sono stato soddisfatto dell'acquisto.
