Assuming you mean thousandth of an inch. These are metric bits in millimeters. Take the "mm" size and divide by 0.0254 to get 1/1000 inches.

Q: How do you open the box that contains the bits. It appears to be completely sealed shut

The clear, top portion slides to the right. It's stiff, brand new: with the package flat and the top edge facing you, place your thumbs on the flat tabs (left on the clear, right on the dark tab) and gently pull in opposite directions until the clear slides to the left and the base slides to the right. At this point, you can probably grab the lower edges with your index fingers and continue to slide apart. As square with exit hole lands over a drill bit, you can then tilt the box so just that drill slides from its groove, through the hole, onto the table, and rolls onto the floor. Yes, you can continue to slide the clear cover totally off to access all drills at once. I found that exit hole does not align well with the larger drill bits - so you'll end up removing the cover to access them. Oh - and that bracket hanger at the end? I just flexed it off, as I felt that it was interfering with the initial slide/opening of the clear cover.
