METAL KNIT AGAIN by Swatch reimagined in Bioceramic

thin, light, beautiful
I love Swatches. I remember when they first came out. It was 1983, though I might not have seen them at the mall until '84 or '85. They were trendy in junior high and people would wear them with the rubber-band style scratch guards. For an adult man, the original Gent model at 34mm is a little small by 21st century standards. In my mind, it doesn't look effeminate, but a person might have to be a member of the cognoscenti that is aware of at least the 80's if not earlier decades to comprehend this. Besides, in the 19th century, all wrist watches were effeminate. Now, if you're a woman, none of these things matter, but men need to understand that such a small unisex watch is not just for Robert Smith and Boy George types. Rather it is for those who simply don't need a baseball-sized G-Jhock to assert their masculinity. The problem with the original Gent is that the seconds hand ticks loudly and the plastic case doesn't do anything to dampen it. Besides, as it has been explained, seconds hands are for people who concern themselves with the precise timing of things like bus arrivals and departures.Initially, I was drawn to the art series of Gent and New Gent watches by Swatch, like the Rousseau Dream and Piet Mondrian pieces sans seconds hands. Unfortunately, I found they tick with each second.I picked up one of these Skin Classic watches and found they offer all the class of a Cartier Tank with none of the pretense.I stopped wearing my plain Timex and Swatch original gents, and wear this now.

OMG this watch is so cool!
I’ve been wearing an Apple Watch for several years. I wanted to upgrade but sheesh I would have to take out a mortgage on my dog to pay for it. So I started shopping. Which is always a great past time for me. I have always wanted a Swatch!! This one is a Skin Classic with a stainless steel band. Can’t even tell it’s on! So thin! The band is comfortable too and I’m very cool with taking it to a Swatch dealer to replace the battery(I’m hoping that won’t be for awhile). It’s a pricier piece as it’s not made of alloy but I believe the quality out ways that aspect. I believe I’ll get a more fun piece(a lot of artistry ones)for everyday wear.

Poorly wrapped package
Amazon placed a $150 watch in a soft package. The Styrofoam was cracked, but luckily the watch was OK

For those who don't like wearing a watch
Can't get thinner or lighter or more user-friendly than this! Even though the band is metal, it is very light. And the good thing about such Milanese bands is that they are so easily adjusted.
