Useful.
Although really designed for first world war reenactors, these puttees (or leggings, as some insist on calling them) proved invaluable at crossing muddy sections of field, and while hiking. I found they were not as effective as rubber boots and wading through rivers, however.

Fabric 108 inches and ties 46 in and only 3 1/2 inches wide!
I bought 2 pair to sew together to make one really long and one very short pair for different uses. Decent fabric, not much stretch so the twist method is all that really works to prevent gapping. Decent product for the price. I will be using them for camping as wool pants are over priced. I measured both pair and both pair the fabric was 108 inches (about 274 cm) only 3 1/2 inches wide!

Too short
What's the old joke; this food is just awful ... and in such small portions! Felted wool cloth is not sufficiently stretchy which leads to stepping and contributes to falling down when worn even with a twist. Also not quite long enough. If they were two feet or maybe even one foot longer, they may have been sufficient.

No idea if these are like the originals, but they seem to work fine. Also good in tick country
I wear these with some breeks usually. provide an alternative to high boots for preventing ticks from crawling up the inside of one's pant leg.
