Rich, interesting color but sparse feathers and weird ends
I was excited to see this boa, which I purchased for part of a Halloween costume. I’d previously purchased a different boa from another Amazon vendor and was thrilled with what I received. This time around, the price was more modest - and so was the boa. On the upside, the color of the feathers is lush and rich - an interesting mix of chocolate brown and an almost mauve hue. The feathers are soft and overall they are sewn evenly on the boa, creating a nice “lift” and flowing feeling. However, there are issues: 1) The feathers are far less dense in this boa than in others I’ve used. This boa is more sparse, especially at its ends, where the feathers just….stop. 2) Speaking of ends, I thought there was a major problem when I first looked at the boa, because at the ends on either side of the boa, there are not only NO feathers covering the end, but also raw canvas or burlap ties at the end stick out. These canvas ties are ugly, knotted pieces that are glaringly obvious without any feathery coverage. 3) As other reviews mention, this boa sheds!! Feather loss is consistent and more than anticipated. Overall, while I kept this boa because it was too late to replace before Halloween, I would not purchase from this vendor in the future.

Looks Exactly Like the Picture - A Good Boa For the Money!
I was looking for fluffy, as this is being used for Halloween decoration. It works well for what I needed. It is more substantial than another play boa I purchased in the past. This is not an ostrich feather boa. You can see the difference compared to high-end vintage boas, which are usually thickly layered longer feathers. But there were cheap boas in the olden days, too!As other reviews also mention:1…It sheds a lot right out of the bag. Pieces of feather and pieces of feather stem. I opened it over the kitchen’s tiled floor, so I was able to catch all the little pieces in a wet cloth to clean up.2…It doesn’t work to just give it one vigorous shaking out, and then expect to not shed anymore. It just keeps on shedding. I assume that because it’s machine tied, not hand-tied. So the tying is haphazared.3…If you care to look closer, you’ll see that some of the feathers are cut off. It’s still fluffy, but this is not a handmade vintage-style boa.So these look like negatives, but only if you are trying to look like Josephine Baker for real. I got just what I paid for, and I’m happy!Happy Reader

Fascinated with the color
It sheds really bad...but I like the way it enhanced my dress...I wore it to a roaring 20"s Christmas Party...

Nice , thick and fluffy
These are much nicer than the others. My only problem was that the color came off on my sweater. Wear black not white or cream! Open outside, shake, let it hang a bit.

Trail of Feathers
Did it look great with my Roaring 20s costume? Yes. But..... I left a trail of feathers like Hansel and Gretel. It just kept shedding the whole night. So great value for the money, but be prepared to clean up.

If Hansel and Gretel left a trail of feathers instead of bread crumbs
I bought this feather boa for a Gatsby-themed event (white with tinsel). The moment I opened the package feathers burst out and landed on my furniture and floor. On the day of the event, I took an Uber to venue and as I was closing the door to leave I noticed the whole back seat was covered in my feathers. Whoops. During the Gatsby thing, I sat down and ate (some got in my wine), stood and mingled, and boogie on the dance floor. I'd look behind me or down every so often to count the fallen feathers, and eventually made it a game to see how many feathers I can leave in a certain area... Surprisingly more feathers fell out during mingling than dancing. The clock struck 10pm and it was time for me to leave. I took one last glance at the room on my way out and was shocked at the extent of my destruction. I really did leave a mess. The cleaning crew was probably annoyed that night. And the Uber. And me too, because I still had to sweep and vacuum the feathers that fell out the first time I opened the box. Yes I was annoyed.Overall, the boa did its job as a cute fashion accessory. I had lots of compliments and it was a great conversation starter. Shed like crazy though, but I didn't really mind. I do feel bad for whoever had to clean them though.
