Big Space Shuttle

Nice video but possibly something better suited for someone 3+ yrs of age. Son enjoys the videos where all the action is, and it does hold his interest in the more explanatory sections describing the preparation for take off, etc. but you can tell that it is not one his favorite videos. I find it well done and well narrated and very interesting. I definitely recommend this video, but maybe wait until the child is over 3 or so.

Since this is a documentary style, it is real and accurate. My 6 year old granddaughter was fascinated. My blind grandson (7 year old) enjoyed it because of all the real sounds/noises, especially the LAUNCH sequences. We have been learning about the solar system together, so this is one DVD in our new collection of space DVDs. Very well done. Since I work for NASA, naturally I enjoyed it.

My son is 3 1/4 years old and recently began taking a liking to Rocket ships...he has always been a train/car/dinasour fan but has branched out a bit in recent months. I bought this DVD along with a book on space and the Matchbox Space Shuttle toy system for Christmas. He loves all of them. This DVD documents everything from the Shuttle to the basics of Space and puts it in simple terms with animation and kids voices that keeps the kids entertained and doesn't bore the adults! As an adult I have learned more about the space shuttle from this DVD!! We have watched is numerous times over the past weekend since we got it! My son then speaks of some of the facts as he is playing with his toy shuttle..very educational and fun! I would highly recommend this for kids of many ages - from 3-13!! and even great for those of use over 30!!

At a 45min length, this is a good movie for my 2.5 year old who loves space. The movie is narrated by a kid and provides lots of information about the space shuttle program and interviews with real astronauts. We watch it at least once a week and he is still really into it.

I searched for JUST the right dvd for my grandson's 6th B'day. He is so into space craft and outer space, the planets, etc. He knows each planet by heart and can tell you all about relevant info on any particular planet. This is why just the right video was so important. He was mesmerized as soon as it started, as well as his 4 year old brother and a little 3 year old visitor. What makes this video so entertaining is that it explains "everything" you need to know about, good for all ages, especially children, but I watched it, too, and was enthralled with it.What a great dvd for the whole family to watch together! It is narrated by a young person, which makes it even more interesting for children.Amazon is the best, I'm never disappointed.

We first got this DVD with a metal space shuttle attached when my oldest son was turning three. It quickly became his favorite DVD as he was enthralled with space and everything about the shuttle program. We were traveling for our jobs a lot back then, and somehow we left it somewhere. Yes, of course we ordered another copy! The music is great. The details are explicit but on a level that children can understand. The real footage, the interviews with astronauts, the pieces about space camp... It all adds up to a super great DVD that I would HIGHLY recommend to any child that is interested in NASA, space, aeronautics, the (former) shuttle program or any combination. You won't regret it. [P.S. This same son is 5 1/2 now, and we watched it again today!]

These are so well made that when my husband or I would walk through the room, we'd sit down to see the rest of it. The series doesn't talk down to kids like they are inferior, or talk silly to them like they're easily-distractable, not overly bright toddlers. We learned new and interesting things which led to a desire to look further into the subjects discussed. We love this whole series.

Boring! This is not for a 3 year old.....this is not exciting to watch at all.
