PCVR Gaming is where this excels! Better than Reverb G2, HTC Vive Pro 2, Focus 3, Pico 4!
Price - It does cost a bit, but when you put it in perspective, it's priced about right; G2 Omnicept £1250, Varjo Aero ~£3000 (Including base stations, controllers, headphones, Import tax) HTC Focus 3 £1300 HTC Vive Pro 2 Kit £1300 Valve Index Kit £919 Most of the above are not standalone, and some don't have eye tracking and all the other sensors like the Quest Pro has. Resolution - This is where there is a lot of misconception! Quest 2 use a single panel, Quest Pro uses two panels that move with the lens stack, so you get MORE visible pixels, which increases the Pixels per degree, giving you better image quailty, and superb clarity, so overall you get a higher visible resolution. Lenses - This is truly next gen VR, edge to edge clarity, no god rays. being able to look any direction with your eyes and have clear clarity is something Fresnel lenses can't do. These are the best Lenese on any HMD right now. SDE - If you look for it, you can see it, more so on white back grounds. but this is nothing like the Rift S, Valve Index. Fresnel lenses did a good job hiding it with the Quest 2, but with the clarity of the Pancake lenses, it has made it more pronounced. That said, playing PCVR games, you won't notice it. PCVR - I've owned many headsets over the years from the CV1, Samsung, Revrb G1, G2 v1, Quest 2, Pico 4. I have to say, out of all those HMD's, the Quest Pro is a massive step up in clarity. Even people with HTC Vive Pro 2 and Focus 3 and Varjo Aero have came forward in a forum I use, and have stated how resolution is not everything, and how they are blown away with the clarity of the Quest pro. It is truly awesome, especally when we crank the settings up. Turning the render resolution up to 1.7x, using Oculus Debug Tool, and setting encode width to 3616, and bit rate to 500Mbps, really makes the Quest Pro shine by hiding compression, and giving objects in the distance a sharper clarity, making it easier to read marker boards in the likes of sim racing etc. Now as I own a 4090, these setting are playable at 90FPS and high settings in the likes of DCS. ACC Epic VR, which just look incredible! MSFS Ultra settings plus 1.7x render resolution plays at a solid 45FPS with ASW, and is also incredible how that looks and feels. Controllers - Well lets just make it clear, as good as the CV1 Touch controllers, and Valve Index controllers at tracking, with a premium feel and great haptics. Comfort - Is hit and miss depending on your head shape. It is well balanced, and fits my head nicely. FOV - I have a IPD of 67mm using the FOV app, I see 104 degrees, push my eyes closer, and I get 106. Conclusion - After many hours with this HMD, I am keeping it as my go to PCVR HMD, it truly is a next gen experience. I have Videos through the lenses of the Quest Pro with on my YouTube Channel playing PCVR maxed settings, with a 4090, just search user TG Pips.

Quest Pro
Excellent headset, I also have the quest 3 which is excellent, the QPro is now my daily go to device. The display on the Q Pro is quality with no SDE, resolution is lower then the Q3 but the contrast and colours make it look great. Note in apps not optimised to lower black levels like bigscreen & netflex results in bright reflections which make the lenses look like thay are foggy on the QPro in dark parts of films, but its also a problem on the Q3. Tip lower the brightness to 60% on the QPro makes a big difference and the screen is still bright. Sound is not as loud as Q3 but only slightly and is very immerse and excellent quality. Pass through is is not the best but it's also not great on the Q3 but is better, I think we are a few models off that tech before the cameras required are affordable for mainstream. Having the option of magnetic blackout should be added to all VR headsets it really is a pleasant experience without the blackout when working with the headset, but switch on to bigscreen and attach the magnetic blackout and you in your own cinema. Comfort I found OK out of the box, there is zero pressure on your face due to design which I find more comfortable then the standard pressure around my eyes and cheaks, but bear in mind it puts a lot of pressure on your forehead. I find this headset comfortable with zero face pressure but pressure on the forehead gets to much after 45 minutes and need to take a break, so rate it 6/10 out of the box. Purchase a third party, global cluster comfort kit and it transforms the headset completely making it super comfortable to wear for hours and I would rate 8.5 /10. Build quality is excellent and eye tracking should be a standard that all VR headsets have its excellent on the Q Pro. Pro controllers make a difference, tracking and feedback are better then the Q3 which is expected at the cost but not hugely, rechargeable battery life is excellent. PCVR is excellent both wireless and wired, Q Pro colours and local dimming make the games look stunning and I would say it has the best lenses on any headset making it easy to find that sweet spot and visuals cristal clear.

Very good VR headset
I bought this mainly to play games (they say it is not primary for games) and boy does it enhance the experience. The new pancake lenses are so much clearer and things look so much more vivid. Red Matter 2 is the only game that developers have took full advantage of all the Pro's features like eye tracking, and boy this game blows you away. Hopefully if sales of the Pro grow more games like that will appear in the store, but even games like Iron Man look better on the Pro as you don't seem to have the small sweet spot of the Fresnel lenses of the Quest 2. Also the controllers are a major improvement they have a processor and three camera's in each one so they self track the headset does not need to see them. They wont lose tracking even behind your back makes playing shooting games and games like Beat Sabre so much better. I thought the open design of the headset would annoy me and put me off and I would need to get the option extra full face blocker. Surprisingly my brain focuses on the screen and I feel full immersed. The fact that the head set is open means it doesn't get too hot on your face, and suffer from the lens fogging issues of the Quest 2. So overall I am very pleased with my purchase can't see me using my Quest 2 again as once you have used the Pro you are spoilt. Is it perfect no, but I am sure as with the Quest with software updates it will become even better over time. The cost is the thing that has everyone talking yes it is very expensive but I don't regret my purchase

Wanted one since launch, excellent at this price
I enjoy PC VR gaming, and have been looking at the Quest Pro for a while. I ended up getting a Pico 4 which whilst great for PC VR was uncomfortable, even with 3rd party modifications, it also suffered from fogging in play sessions. The Quest Pro is a delight, very comfortable, great with Meta link, and simply pick up off the included dock and play. The blacks look fantastic with auto dimming, and colours bright and vivid, playing American Truck Simulator is a whole new experience especially at night driving. Yes there is a slight drop in resolution vs the Pico 4 and Quest 3, but the lens quality is amazing with Pixel Density being so good that there is no screen door noticeable. A lovely premium quality product and a great all rounder

Good headset, but there are better.
After a year with the Quest Pro, my feelings are quite mixed about it. It's been both my best and worst headset at times, but that is more to do with the software it uses for PCVR. It can be downright frustrating at times and it takes a different solo developer (virtual desktop) to really make it shine. In fact you have to literally make a developer account to take advantage of the headset's facial tracking in certain social VR games... However, if you don't care about the face tracking, I would suggest just getting a Quest 3 as they are practically the same, or even better in my opinion than the Pro as that headset has it's own advantages that I will not go over in this review. BUT. I will not be purchasing a Quest 3 to replace this headset as it feels like a negative transaction due to the price difference and features that it has over it. The controllers are the other main outstanding feature of this headset. They are self tracked, which means that the headset's cameras do not need to see them in order to track. This makes throwing thing's in VR easier, as well as improving interactions in VR. The main caveat of this is that the cameras of the controllers need to be in quite bright light to track properly and keep tracking. I tend to prefer low light when playing in VR, yet they perform poorly in low light environments. I'm sure there are things that can be done to help this, such as IR lights to illuminate your room, but I would not like to spend more money than necessary. Speaking of that... some users may find themselves having quite severe forhead pain due to the design of the headsets strap. THE MOST IMPORTANT upgrade you will ever get for a Quest Pro is the Globular Cluster kit. It is an absolute game changer and I recommend it to everyone buying the headset. I won't get into details of that here either, look it up yourself as it is a game changer for comfort and overall fit of the headset. Overall, I don't think I would recommend this headset for a new user. I bought it when the price was £580, and I do not believe it is worth any more than this due to its caveats. It is not the perfect headset to end all of your problems. If you wish to purchase a better headset than a Quest 3, wait for Meta's new release or whenever Valve decide to release the Deckard. However, it is the easiest way to get face tracking in social VR, and I only recommend it for that as it does the job good enough, but it is overshadowed by other currently available options, as well as the bigscreen beyond 2 when it's facial tracking gets fully realised. The battery life isn't the best either, only lasting around 2 hours but that is an afterthought for me as I usually have it plugged into power while playing.

Buy a Meta Quest 3. It’s far better
The title says it all. The only thing this is superior in is RAM and the head strap. That’s it. The displays maybe nanodot, but the resolution is half that of the 3, also the passthrough (AR) cameras are terrible. They require full sunlight to give even a mediocre image, on a device designed for indoor use. Very, very grainy and blurred. Not worth all the extra money. I’ll me sending mine back.

Brilliant I love the device
When I first looked at the reviews on You tube at first I thought they were looking at this device in the wrong way.. I was very cautious about getting this device because of those reviews which I think are very negative by people that don’t know what they are talking about . This device is brilliant . Picture quality is amazing and the fit is really comfy compared to the quest 2 The optics are so good that is such an improvement and with the combination of a better fit that’s it’s a no brainier to get . I am so pleased I got this and even with the 1499 price tag I still think it is worth it . I think it may be a case that the first reviews were written by people on You tube have a very negative attitude . I know it’s good to critique a new product but it’s best to say nothing if it’s not constructive. I would agree the AR side of things are a work in progress and it’s a new thing But this device was only reviewed mainly because it was marketed as an AR device .and I think the first reviews on You tube were a bit negative on that But as a VR Device it’s brilliant for gamers and normal VR contents . I’m so impressed that I had to write a review that I don’t normally do .

A true quality headset.
Having owned the meta quest pro for a couple of weeks it’s now my go to vr headset for gaming on both the pc and stand-alone. I’ve been passionate about vr since the psvr1, before the pro my best vr headset was the valve index which even now is a great choice for gamers. My worst headset without doubt was the pimax oled with possibly the most unreliable software to accompany the product. For me the pro really delivers with visuals both in terms of colour and definition, swapping between games on the quest 2 it’s image and colours feel muted compared to the pro. This is also the same for pcvr, my eyes don’t feel so tired after a couple of hours gaming like they did on the valve index and quest 2, so for me that small step up in image quality has made a big difference. Also I should mention the controllers are possibly the very best on the market and are the star of the package. It’s not worth £1500 but it is a damn good vr headset. J.
