Excellent, cheap lightweight mic stand with different options for setting up - works with RODE VideoMic Pro
After scouring amazon looking at many cheap basic tripods, the actual amazon basics one stood out to me as the best option, and it has not disappointed. It has a great extendable length so you can easily set it up as a normal on stage mic stand, or as I do, use it to mount a shotgun mic (Rode VideoMic Pro) and capture audio from people either sitting or standing. The only minor thing is that even when collapsed and folded down as much as possible, this is still quite long, and doesn't fit in to even fairly large suitcases. I managed to find a long duffle bag suitcase with wheels it just squeezed in to. I guess if they made it any shorted, you would have as much extendable length to play around with so it is a trade off. However, if like me, you want to be able to travel abroad with this piece of kit, it might be worth looking for one that collapses down a bit more

couldn't ask for more
For the price these are excellent. I purchased two and both have performed to expectations in the few months I've owned them. Both stands come with two cable clips, and both stay in place nicely with a microphone attached. Rather light (obviously) so some small sand bags would allow for longer reaches with a heavy microphone

Surprisingly good
For the price - awesome. We've been moving them a lot around for quite some time and they still haven't fallen apart, which I totally expected. A good basic mic stand.

Good for careful, occasional use.
It's OK as a hobbyist mic stand say for occasional use in say a church, home Karaoke or similar "gentle" environment. It doesn't have a cast boss that the feet fix to, and the top of the stand (the hinge of the boom) is all plastic. As such it all works perfectly well, but it's not going to withstand clumsy handling or hard use very well. For use by a gigging band or a busy studio, I'd suggest you need to spend a bit more and get an all-metal stand.

Five stars
All good, thank you

Don't stand for anything else
Strong, sturdy, stable, adaptable. Folds down the a manageable size for storage or transportation. This stand does anything which other general purpose mike stands costing several times as much will do. A faultless piece of kit.
